Sure, excellent price and service. SRS has supplied my K10D, AF540FGZ, 31 & 77mm Limited lenses.

No problems whatsoever other than they are blighted with the same problem any other Pentax supplier has . . . the veeeeerrrrryyyy slooooowww trickle of product from Pentax.

When I have the money, I'll be ordering my DA* lenses from www.srsmicrosystems.co.uk

Well that is one good vote, and I was glad to see the SMC-FA Limited lenses available in back as I'd prefer them to blend with the body rather than shout out loudly, "LOOK! SILVERY!!!".

I assume prices are the same if I go into the shop to have a look/buy there...

Chris can tell you himself about his shop versus web price. I do know that he has promised a cheaper price to us forum members so best make yourself known. You can always PM him.

sharper that the 16-45 and has less vignette

I take it from your post that you've never used a 16-45??? (Unless you've tried a dud)

I don't have any perceivable vignette on digital, very very little distortion and it's razor sharp. Visibly better than the 18-55, especially at the wide angle end.

The 16-50 will be faster - specifically one stop faster. It will have a different bokeh and rendition (9 aperture blades vs 8 of the 16-45). But I doubt you'll be able to tell that it's sharper.

Re: SRS - yes, have used them a few times. Excellent service

Chris at SRS is an absolute Star, I am unlikely to use anyone else unless for something which Chris can't get.

BAD NEWS or good news if you need to save up - I have been informed that they are now delayed until end of July... Apparently they want to build up stocks to enable a good amount of stock availabilty at launch.

Chris
Chris,

Is this really true ? Please tell me it is not.

I would much prefer it if Pentax brought a trickle of DA* lenses to the marketplace now, rather than making everyone wait until the end of July.

The Pentax marketing strategy seems to be to design a brilliant product, raise everyone's expectations and then fail to bring the product to market in a timely manner.

Very frustrating, especially for someone like me with nothing wider than an A-series 35-70 zoom and an M-series 28mm prime.
