It was the norm then. Even when I went to grammar school (196 the boys uniform in the lower school was shorts. They couldn't go into longs until the 3rd form. And girls weren't allowed trousers. Or patent leather shoes.

Groovy music in that film, eh!

And not a fluorescent yellow hi-viz jacket in sight... Navvies were more picturesque in them days!

Algi. I know times were hard back then... But pee soup!. Was that a Campbells or Heinz variety?

We now have a blizzard. A strong south wind and snow going horizontally.
What happened to the thaw they promised us?

And I have some sun

AND

If I so wish I can get my Freelander out and on to the road

I'm kind of worried - I do have puddles of liquid on the concrete so lots of salt has been added to them
let the education continue

We got it.

Last night it rained and every last flake is gone.

We now have the standard British winter - grim grey overcast and raining.

Depressing.

no such thing here, but then I'd be surprised if it did.... maybe it'll melt again before Christmas but I'm not betting on it. We're due for four months of below freezing at this rate......

The huge icicles dropping off our dormer windows onto the main roof kept us awake quite a bit last night

Here too. It hasn't stopped all day, although it is warmer now - 0 C, first time it's been that warm in a while.
My youngest son has just set off on his bike to ride home - 9km away.

Forecast, here, today: 21 to 34 degs C. Possible thunder.
Tomorrow: possible odd shower, 19 to 29.
Rest of the week: mid teens to mid 20s (Centigrade) and fine.

Right now: mid 20s and 100% blue sky.

Sigh!

(Mind you, we have had the wettest spring in decades)
