Not sure what you're asking here, as the judges do exactly that. Then people join in freely to discuss things.
Can you be a bit more specific as to what you have in mind?

Usually the judge will stand up in front if the club and run through their thinking. The less they say the more likely the image was so-so or worse. If they are not present I'd expect a conmentary read by a.n.other. Failing this I'd expect the club to have a discussion to work out what the judge was thinking.

doug8 thank you - I misread that as referring to Pentax User Club, but you are right I'm sure.
I am a judge and would always give an appraisal to go with the mark or award. This has to be more than I like it or don't like it, but also we have to be careful that we don't fall into the myriad of traps that are there for the judge to fall victim to.
This can be from simple things like using a favourite word every sentence to more complex problems such as making assumptionsa that are actually quite wide of the mark. I remember one assumption from one judge that was as wide of the mark as you can get. He looked at a darkroom black and white print from a professional printer who routinely printed 300 images p0er day and declared it as "a bit pixelated" - this is still mentioned from time to time, several years later.

John, I mean the Pentax Club competitions, you enter photos and from my experience, you do not get anything from the judge as to the merits or otherwise of the photograph.

Well I don't know the competition that you have entered ,but if you look at the results of previous competitions the judge generally goes through the entries one by one and makes a comment . Then she or he chooses a first, second and third place..... then other forum members discus the photos .....
I think this happens most of the time ........ but I think just recently a judge chose a winner and a second and third place, but she did not make any comment ,I guess sometimes folk are just too busy.... jeff

If you mean the weekly and fortnightly? Then in the fortnightly comp thread there is a judges commentary which usually (but not always) gives a run down of the judges thoughts on the images. e.g. https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/topic/fortnightly-competition-95--texture--3546...#comm401428
In the weekly, scroll down the completed comp gallery to find the judges thoughts. e.g. https://www.pentaxuser.com/competitions/weekly-competition--260---vertebrate-wil...#comm152937
If you want more personalised comments on your image, then I think you will have to cross the judge's hand with paypal.
beyond these comps I don't know what you mean.

This is the competition I am refering to, so, do you think the judge should add his comments to the photo?

You expect the judges to comment on every entry to this 'competition' - that's three months of uploads to the gallery from all PU plus members.
