We got there!
You need to send a PM to PentaxDan on this one as this is a different sort of competition, run by the staff of PU.

As has previously been said, in camera clubs the judge gives his reasons why. From these comments you, hopefully learn, but un the PU quarterly one, no comments, therefore no learning. Please vote. Thanks

Oh I see. I wasn't aware of how to enter. I wonder how many others are unaware.

There are thousands of photo competitions which don't offer feedback and often have a phrase to the effect of 'no correspondence will be entered into'
I would have thought the incentive for entering was the chance of winning the prize and not a free tutorial.
I hadn't considered PU Monthly Competitions as 'camera clubs'

I voted no btw - I think it is a different sort of competition to the weekly and monthly ones, and as such doesn't need commentary from the judge(s). There may be way to many photos for them to comment on in any case. I see it more like competitions you see online, or the BBC Countryfile calender competition - you never get a reason for winning or not from those either.

With some competitions you just don't get feedback on your entries, it's up to the organisers to chooses whether they wan't to do this or not, that's just the way things are.
I don't really see a problem, there are many ways to get comments and criticism on your pictures, if your not happy with the way a particular competition is run you don't have to enter.

I agree. Feedback isn't always necessary. If you want feedback there is the weekly and the new monthly. It would be good to support it.

You do not get any feed back, at least I didn't when I got a runner up prize last time.

This is the competition I am refering to, so, do you think the judge should add his comments to the photo? The quarterly Pentax User Photography Competition

It would have been helpful to know why I'd done well - but I posted the photo on another forum and asked members there for their opinions to give me some idea.
I should imagine that there are way too many entries to be personally noted, but I'm surprised that this hasn't bee brought up before tbh with all the fuss there is about Judges not commenting on the Weekly / fortnightly comp.

You don't have to be a PU Plus member to enter competitions ro to have an opinion Charlotte. You're welcome to join in, with Pentax images of course.

No, only the ones that have been entered in to the competition.
Even the winners don't get comments on why they won do they?
