I have used them once to repair an FA lens and the process was entirely satisfactory.
Best regards, John

I've used them many years ago for a camera repair, and for other spares since. No problems.
You could also try Robin at Harrow Technical.
EDIT: I just read on the Harrow Technical web site that they don't repair digital models, but might be handy for the future.

I spoke to Asashi on the phone a few days ago (about a lens I aquired), and they were very helpful. As they are only a few miles away from me, I went round there - its basically a technician working in the back of a shop. Very helpful, knows his stuff, and I could well end-up with the bargain of the year if all turns out well, but not going to jinx it at this stage though by saying any more!
No experience of how good/bad they are when it comes to email, but phone worked fine!
Interestingly (but unrelated) apparently they have been waiting over 3 months for replacement SDM motors for various dead DA* 16-50's. There's probably all sorts of speculation you can read into that...

Still shooting in the dark (literally and metaphorically)...

Sorry Mike, took them a few days to reply. They have, and been very helpful, so will send my camera next week before I go back to work (in Libya).
Hopefully all will be OK, will update either way.
Paul

Not what I wanted to hear - I have just about made up my mind to go for a DA*16-50mm after using a DA*50-135mm and DA*300mm without any problems for a while.
Back On Topic – I sent my LX to Asahi Photo to repair a ‘sticky’ mirror (common problem with the LX) and they did an excellent job.

Have read that Pentax has updated the SDM motors in the DA*16-50 and the DA*50-135 lenses so there should be less problems with the current generation.

An update on my K20D Repair, sent to Asahi Photo for repair at the beginning of September.
I've now got it back, took a while but I cant fault Asahi Photo, If I had pushed for a speedy repair I feel sure I would of received it earlier but being away for six weeks a speedy repair wasn't a priority.
The cost of repair was fine, all emails where answered, repair is fine(replaced front plate) and some scratches on the top of the flash, have been all but removed which I hadn't expected.
my wife paid as I was still away, she said he was very nice.
So would I use them again, the answer is yes. If a quick turnaround is needed I would recommend you speak to them first.
