Given that some people don't like change, which is perfectly understandable, it's remarkable how little complaint the coloured Kx cameras have triggered.
It must basically be a universally acceptable idea and if so it's amazing that it hasn't been tried before.
It has been used on a small scale as far back as box cameras, but nothing like the Pentax programme.

I really should not make any comment bearing in mind that the demised P70 was white [ absolutely stunning I will admit ] and the new one is red ! I don't even know if it's dark red or a bright red
I'll admit that a multicoloured one is not my idea of a suitable appearance for a K-x - but whatever suits you won't suit someone else .If it get's folk in by making photography fun - then why not ?

That was an limited edition, only 1000 or so are made and you got an action figure with it.

It does look like it was made from all the leftovers of the other coloured versions of the K-x but it is kind of appealing in a hideous sort of way.
The action figure - Pentaxman? sounds fun.

Having seen a Polo Harlequin, that was my first thought on seeing that K-x
