Are Pentax getting carried away with coloured cameras??

My god that wasn't the actual toy figure was it? That looks really crappy like something you'd make in 3rd form woodwork...
I think the coloured cameras are a stroke of genius. Look what it did for the original iMac! Here's hoping that Canon and Nikon take themselves too seriously to bring out their own.
In fact had a conversation with a client on Thursday, she asked me for any recommendations for a beginner's DSLR so she could take photos of her kids. I suggested the K-x of course, but she was leaning towards a Nikon (suggested by her non-photographer husband). But when I mentioned the K-x came in different colours her eyes lit up and she was completely sold on the idea! This was a woman in her late 40s.

I'd just like a black KX, with those little red focus point indicators in the viewfinder.

I think one covered in neoprene would be a good idea...transparent is a nice idea too.
In general I think coloured cameras are a good idea, my wife has a white K-m twin-lens kit, which actually looks very nice. Techniccolour looks a bit garish though.....

I think the coloured (and multi-coloured) versions of the K-X are fantastic. I personally wouldn't buy one ( I have a black one) but I can see the appeal to younger people, perhaps starting out in their hobby/career. A shrewd move by Pentax.
Yes, Flossie, they are a matter of personal taste. Personally, I think the Mona Lisa is a minger. I wouldn't hang it in my toilet.
