Stefan, if you want real beer, try to put your hands on Canadian beer.

Thank you Oggy will try to get them here
Yves Canada is too far away.
Btw when I did my internship in Hanover Germany there was octoberfest there and I did drank some nice beer then but my memory is a bit fuzzy so can't remember the brand
That was actually the only time I enjoyed a real beer or it might just be that the quantity made the difference

I would have thought between De Bierkoning and The Cracked Kettle in Amsterdam you'll probably find most of them, and then there's always t'internet nowadays

Yorkshire beers are pretty good as well Stefan.
The decent brewers are, Timothy Taylors, Black Sheep, Theakstons (of course), Daleside Breweries.
There are others but they've slipped my mind.
Too much beer I suppose!

Whatever you do buy Stefan do NOT buy Guinness here. It is horrible. The only place to drink the black stuff is in Ireland.
You can buy some English beers from places like www.thevillageshop.nl - they have Spitfire, Bishop's Finger, Old Speckled Hen and Wychwood Hobgoblin. Many independent slijters also have a couple of English beers.
If you go to the US then find a microbrewery and enjoy some excellent beer. Just avoid the big names there - even worse than Heineken

Our holiday in the IOW is over but I do have lots of photos. What a nice place. We have not been their for 35 years. Most expensive sea crossing in the world I am told. Found some interesting local beer.
