Just tradition in our house, what better way to see in the new year than with good food and decent whisky...

Haggis does NOT come in that category

Oh come on TT!

Anything that uses the bits you don't want to look at has to be good for you..

.....look at black pudding, sausages etc..

Just lit the stove after a full clean, house should be warm again in an hour or so.

Happy New Year to all.
Cheers, HG

When we were served Haggis in this style for the first time, I solemly explained to the kids that this was Marine Haggis...usually found in the waters around the Isle of Mull.

But seriously, I love Haggis and it is regularly served in our home. With tatties and neeps and a small glass of Whisky.....
Best regards, John

Many Scots will tell you that the Haggis is a small furry creature with the legs on one side shorter that the other. So that they can run around the hills better.

Lesser known fact is that the male of the species has left legs that are shorter, hence it traverses hills anti-clockwise. The female on the other hand has right legs which are shorter and so runs around clockwise.

Any attempt to reverse this activity results in a roll to the bottom where they are collected by Haggis purveyors

But there you have the reason that these secretive creatures are only very rarely seen, being a family oriented site I leave you to work out the difficulty in the mechanics.

Bernard

Tend to agree on this one..

...it's like chewing old bicycle tyres!

One thing that French cuisine has definitely got wrong.

I was told andouilette was invented by the French as a joke on the English and never ever order it anywhere
