You're right, it was the gooseberries that hurt.

Gooseberry jam was good, but not as good as...

I don't get jam.

Take some lovely, fresh, nutritious, wholsome fruit...and cover it in refined sugar!

Black currants --- Thorns ?

Do you mean gooseberries?. They make good jam/pies/plonk as well

Bernard.

PS also bake bread - 5 x 2lb loaves at a time.
Blackberries (Brambles ? ) have thorns.

Do you find the black currants have a two year cycle, feast one year famine the next. I seem to recall the black current bushes we had when I was a child were like that.

OK, it's just me then!

A sunny day in Auld Reekie. Just a pity I'm on my way to work.

Lovely morning here, I've got the bike out and I'm ready to go to the gym. Have something in the knapsack in case of unexpected events unfolding which call out to be recorded

I trust they checked their source before making those bold statements

I love it when the TV news people bring out an "expert".

A volcano is erupting. The news programme has an expert vulcanologist who tells us that this will be very dangerous for anyone who is near the volcano and gets hit by lava as it's very hot.

Well duh!
