Just out of curiosity :-

Why are radio stations celebrating 4th July.

Don't they realise - We lost to the Americans.

And now it's RANT time

B….. 'computer technology ' firms

I cut the caller off in full flow as she was telling me about all the nasty things that were being downloaded onto my Computer. It had started out quite nicely and I was prepared to play till I was bored.

But when I did as she asked I couldn't see the Icon at the bottom L hand corner of my screen that I should have done [ Surprise surprise ! ] So she asked me what I was seeing since she could see all these nasties on my poorer. I then told her that if she could see them then she knew what I was looking at. Her not happy THEN light dawned " Are you using a Mac ? "so I told her that I was giving her no information since she knew exactly what was going on, after all she was telling me that she could see my computer .

Her very unhappy [ Script doesn't cope with bolshie me - and I'm not in the best of moods today anyway ] she started shouting at me and wouldn't let me get a word in - so I shouted back and told her to 'shut up and listen'

I then told her I didn't need her help and cut her off [ phone was on speaker mode ]

10 mins later her 'supervisor' phoned me - said they were very worried about my pooter !! She was telling me , again, about all the dangers to which I was exposed and this test they wanted to run would only take 2 mins of my time and would show me all the nasties on my poorer. I told her I wasn't interested and she carried on

Guess what ? I did it again - cut the call . BTW I do have a copy of the number they called me from if you want it

I played mine along for over 15 minutes being very stupid and thick ( not hard )I then said I had to take my medication ! I went off noisily and returned 10 mins later to hear " hello,hello-are you there? - hello" Another 10 mins later the phone went down.Week later called again,he said we had been cut off.I said there was nothing wrong with my machine and I certainly wasn`t going to let him "take control".We "discussed this" for a few minutes and then the supervisor came on to warn of impending doom.....................I chuckled and said let it come.
They then got rather heated so I left the call and they have not been back since.
Well done TT - locally a few people have had bills of over £250 for their "fix"
