It depends on who left the door open. If you did its your fault. If someone else did then its your fault as well. I ended up putting and alarm on our freezer door because someone kept leaving it open. Cant think who

The sun is finally shining, it is warm, and the sounds of assorted so called music, lawn mowers, strimmers and paint sanders are drowning out the birdsong.
Ah! A chain saw just been added to the mix. All we need now is for an emergency repair needing doing to the street at the end to add the sound of a pneumatic drill and the cacophony will be complete
I need my ear plugs in to sit outside.

Off to watch my dearly beloved with his two bands later on. My youngest son is on drums for one band, after just two practice sessions with them.
I could do with a) hearing aids I could turn off
and b) the 50-135* I sold last year.
At least they have a professional sound man - my middle son

I know Stan, my father-in-law was very deaf and really struggled with his aids all the time I knew him.
I am taking earplugs, to stave off the day I need hearing aids.

What I would like to see is the text subtitles on the news stay in sync. Usually the text isn't too bad on a lot of programs although some I do watch don't have subtitles and because of the dialect especially in the Southern States an english translation would be a bonus, programs such as "Justified" etc

My late father-in-law suffered with perforated eardrums all his life.
It manifested itself, in later years,as selective deafness.
He could hear a £5 note hit the floor but not when I talked to him...
... hang on...
As a side, we do miss him.

Sound like the cat. Can hear a tin of tuna opening a mile away, but if you ask her not to eat your ham sandwich...!
My favourite comparison is 'Dogs come when called. Cats take a message and get back to you. Maybe.'

Well I survived last nights bash. Just.
One band had 6 guitarists . Wouldn't have been bad if they were like the Eagles and each had a part to play to contribute to the whole, but no, six of them standing in a row, all playing the self same thing. One had seriously expensive kit and a pedal board to a make a pro jealous. Except he didn't know how to use it, so didn't manage his solo and then had the nerve to blame my son, volunteer sound man! Bloody cheek.
Their singer was tone deaf too, and sang English songs with a terrible Dutch accent - fondervull instead of wonderful, ve instead of we, just grim.
I was glad when they finished.
If another such evening is organised and they play that will be my cue for a trip to the loo and some fresh air I think.
Otherwise it was an OK evening. Shocked by husband singing a self composed song which I didn't know he had written.
