It is interesting that the two nations that a certain class of Britons profess to hate most are the Germans and the French.
And yet, our genes and our language are very largely of German and French origin. With a little Celt thrown in to sweeten the brew.

Je ne vois rien de mal à parler Français. Je pourais cependant passer plusieurs commentaires sur l'Anglais utilisé par certains membres.

You have misread what I wrote.
I always say "an hotel", but I confess to seldom saying "an history". Churchill would be disappointed.

I got complained at when I said it should always be "a F-Secure product". Turns out - at least according to the authorities we could find - that it should be written in the same manner that it would be spoken, so therefore "a Monday", "an F-Secure product" and "a hostel".
OTOH, this may be mid-atlantic English, I'm not 100% sure and the number of people in the building at work who can tell the difference between European English with American spelling and truly US-English (utilising, for example, "gotten", "through" and the simplified sentence structure predominant on the western side of the pond) is minimal, even if there are any. One could also argue that such English would actually be more difficult to read.
... and France is much easier if you have a tall blonde female with you who can speak at least tourist-french

Not sure it's a class thing - the French are our longest (and most natural enemies). The Germans are well, just a bit too arrogant for our liking - they would say self-confident - plus the lack of a sense of humour It is interesting that the two nations that a certain class of Britons profess to hate most are the Germans and the French.

I should perhaps have used the word category. Class is such an emotive word in Britain.

Your French is not perfect, but you still deserve an "A" for effort.
