20 years, that must be quite some brew they used last time then. If they leave it that long there wont be anyone left who can remember what to do!!!!

If you don't want to wear yourself out the first day do a tour on one of the special buses (if they are running this time of year?) it goes around all the places of interest mentioned by David then you can pick out the "must go back and shoot" at your leisure. There is a bus stop very near Jessops if you need anything in an emergency. At the back of British Home Stores there is one of those cash converter shops you might pick up a bargain lens
Think the Royal Yacht is worth a visit.

It's down to a resin in the paint. link

Although I did hear that the wife of the man who painted it isn't too sure about the colour and thinks it might look better in blue!

I've put a not dissimilar paint on the bottom of my boat, in hopes it too won't need doing for at least twenty-five years.

It cost less than £135 million, but not much.

A paint applied on-site, in all weathers, by guys suspended 100s of feet above the river...? OK, maybe 20 years in the laboratory, but my money would be on lots of work for itinerant climber/painters well before 2032.

I did some surface coating trials (not paint) back in the late 60s. This involved for one test being sprayed with high pressure, warm brine. Needless to say not many coatings survived this one, indeed our biggest problem was finding pump materials that would survive the duration.

Uncoated bronze was used as the base standard as there is a vast amount of data available for this material in salt water. Results were then pro-rata-ed (is this a word, if not I claim first printed use) to arrive at an expected life when fitted to a vehicle.

Unfortunately if we'd had to wait the "life time" period then Ford Escorts and Morris Marinas would just about be coming off the assembly line, But they'd last much longer

Reminds me of a possibly apocryphal stopry about the Mersey Tunnel many years ago.
They asked for quotes to repaint the Queensway Tunnel. Many quotes were received but one was well under the rest. They were duly given the job and finished in record time with a very odd colour.
When they had been paid and "disappeared" the paint started to pel off in places and looked dreadful.Further investigation showed that the "firm" had approached all the major paint manufacturers with the temptation of a big contract deal and asked for samples. These were then all aggregated and slapped on the walls without any preparation or undercoat.

Might not be true but let`s not spoil a good story eh ?

Been to the Doc's for the results of a blood test. He got on about good and bad cholesterol, apparently I have way too much bad. The good news is, the recommended medicine is 14 to 16 units of alcohol per week. The bad news is, it's not on prescription.

I've had a letter inviting me to take part in a bowel cancer screening.

Now there's a job for someone.

Perhaps they just do it part time to keep their hand in

If you are serious I would do the test. It was only pure luck I received a letter about screening for prostate cancer and went along for the initial test. Just as well as it proved positive and the cancer was showing signs of capsular breach, all cut out now.
A year later for the usual reasons, I went for a colonoscopy, it was discovered I had bowel cancer, and had the op which was a straight forward cut and shut.
In both cases detection saved a lot of complications such as early death etc.
So taking part in such screening is not that much of a pain in the bum

I gather thay merely want some samples "taken in the privacy of my own home".

I was just amused (not really the word I want) by what some people do for a job.

On the plus side I was prescribed Viagra after the prostatectomy, to increase blood flow and promote healing, the only problem was the world turned the same blue cast as my old Swiss slides but 5 stops brighter
