Just got back from babysitting duties.
We had the two tikes here this afternoon, which made watching the rugby difficult, but not impossible. The older one described it as a mix of foot-and handball, and was trying to work out what was going on. At least he automatically supported the right team - I'm for red Oma what about you?
We took them out to eat - went to a local restaurant where three of us had pancakes and the other had sausage and chips.

By 'northern' do you mean the Scandinavians that lurk here, or just us from t'north o'england?
I've got today off, then back to work for 4 days and a lazy weekend. The new job's frustrating..
.. my side kick Ed (who uses a ME Super) and myself just seem to be doing the work/visits/tidying up for our new colleagues. It's our own fault for feeling bored at the laid back pace of our new department, that and we're highly mobile so...

I developed a rather nasty throat condition (possibly down to shouting at the TV). All credit to Wales, they deserved the win. But at least Scotland finally scored a try! (Well technically two).

I would have said rugby was a game for thugs played by gentlemen. Not only because of it's origins, but also because rugby players just seem nicer people than most footballers. Of course there are some notable exceptions.
My husband, neither thug nor gentleman was a demon fast bowler in his day, and a goalie to boot. He only played one season of rugby before giving it up.
One of my daughters-in-law plays rugby. She too is neither gentleman or thug .

That's how I played football at school. It's the taking apart that counts!
I always had an early bath as I got sent off after cripling the oppositions star players.
Needless to say we always won, and the early bath water was always clean and warm!
