A lot warmer than here then Stan - it was -2 at it's warmest here today, -5 now.

Not a lot to photograph?? In Brugge???? Not my favourite place, but it is photogenic.

No mussels and chips then? What about a Straffe Hendrik?

Didn't get anywhere for a beer, to be honest ,if we had known how long it was going to take to get to Brugge and the short time we were going to be there I think we may have given it a miss altogether left hotel at 7.30 arrived Brugge 11.45 and had to be back at the coach for 1430. The nicest place we saw was just across from the coach park Miniwaterpark, lots of swans and ducks and a "maneating horse" photo later a pure accidental snap, lots of chocolate shops and I managed to walk past them all, except one
Off to Canterbury today, wonder if I'll get to try out the mono-pod today.

The new Leonard Cohen album was waiting for me when I got home. Think I've listened to it about five times in total. It really is excellent.

I agree! I've been carrying it around with me since it came out. I always thought it was a shame there were few recordings of LC reading his poetry - this comes quite close. Strange how colleagues don't appreciate it when I play it in the office!!

First saw him at the IoW Festival in 1970!

This poor boy's life is ruined. And he is only 2.

People will remember this for evermore. It will be online for anyone searching on his name. Oh the misery.

Ah 15 minutes of fame at two years old. Probably see him on the TV in twenty years when a photo of this will be produced. Maybe he will become a politcian.

My Firefox is just fine. Do you have a Google toolbar or the Google add-on?

On another subject has anyone heard anything on Barrie lately - how his op went and how he is doing now?

As far as I know its the bog standard firefox, its on my laptop so will compare with what I have on the main computer when I get home (tomorrow night) . I only use this one on holiday so its not that important, but thanks.

I would think Barrie will be online again as soon as he's able. I'm sure someone will have some news soon.

Hi just a quick note to say thanks to all of you for your best wishes. Back home now safe and sound after the op, which ended up a quad.

Margaret is not fairing quite so well as she still has a lot of pain in all of her leg. We are told this is due to the large amount of bruising that was done during the op. The knock on effect inauseaia and a very sorry for herself Margaret.

I can't remember if I mentioned all the things that have gone wrong in the house since I went into Hospital.
1/ TV blown up replaced
2/ Fridge blown up replaced
3/ Old hard disc recorder not compatible with New TV replaced
4/ Baxi boiler fault repairman Monday
5/ New HDR not working with new TV exchanged
4/ Toilet Cistern repairman tomorrow

I think 2012 can only go downhill from here.

Oh one good thing the little hook thing has come so I can fix the tripod mount for the DA300

Good to hear from you Barrie. Glad you are doing OK. I hope Mararet is soon feeling a whole better.

As for your wallet - it may never recover from that assault - it sounds like it needs an urgent transfusion of cash. DO they offer those on the NHS?

Take care of yourselves!

Glad you are both safely home now Barrie - just take life quietly for the next wee while whilst you both recover from the anaesthetics [ can take a month for that ]

Since the weather's not nice - keep warm

Sorry about the various catastrophes - but you seem to have them more or less under control.
