You don't know what you are missing. Even cheap econoburgers have lots of taste and my hot smoked salmon is a bit special (even if I say so myself).Never had a barbecue - himself always said

A chicken'll fit in that! My son has one and he cooks chicken on it - and the son with a Cobb cooks chicken on that too. http://cobb-bbq.co.uk/
The hairy Bikers use a Cobb on their programme quite a lot.
We have the one-touch, and usually there is only the two of us - though somehow my sons and their families seem to sense when we are planning one. We usually get a text message saying BBQ? the afternoon we are planning one. Sixth sense. Luckily we have a big freezer.
You can guess when we are going to barbecue at Oggy towers. If the day begins with Fri or Satur, then it's a safe bet.

I tend to get stuff, it starts as food but ends up as stuff, burnt on the outside and raw on the inside.
Hence, I don't BBQ.
Stews on the stove, briskette on the stove, infact anything that will fit in a large cast iron casserole and sit on the stove I can cook.
and I can open OP bottles faster than you can say the name!

1/. Your charcoal is too hot. I use briquettes (not lumpwood and certainly not anything instant lighting) Light and leave for at least one hour. They should be covered in a white powder and barely glowing before you start to cook.
2/. OP (or any other alcohol) is the downfall of barbecues (as with most other things you do under the afluence of incohol).

When I was at school I decided it would be good to learn something useful so I did 'O' level cookery. I was the only boy in a class of 18, and all the girls had already done 3 years worth of classes while I was discovering that metalwork was never going to be my thing. I'm not a chef, but I don't do badly either in the kitchen or the BBQ. The main problem is the expansion of the midriff. My ladylove and I are big curry fans but the MSG in takeaways sets off her migraines. As a result, we have both become dab hands at rustling up some nice spicy food.
Best wishes, Kris.

We won`t see St Georges Day as a Public/Bank holiday in England, the UK Government will never allow it lest it upsets anyone. There were very few cars driving around Bristol last friday flying the George Cross flag and the only place I found in the city where they were on sale was an independantly run Texaco Petrol Station...and they were only selling them because of the fast approaching World Cup.We may well have St George's Day to add to our tally rumour has it. From a Theakston beer mat:-
the seal of the peculier of Masham, which is the theakston trademark, dates back to the 12th century when the Archbishop of York appointed the Official of the Ecclesiastical Court in Masham to administer the law, thus avoiding having to make the long and arduous journey himself.
Theakstons has been brewing fine traditional ale in Masham for over 175 years, and there has been many a milestone in the company's history along the way. One of the most recent being that, after a period of 20 years,Theakstons has once again become independent, controlled and managed by the Theakston family - 'under old management' as you might say!
That's alittle bit of history to go with the gin.
