I've been watching out in case any of you got blown this way .
We had a storm yesterday too - my son lives on the harbour and said he couldn't open his front door, and this morning couldn't see out of his windows for salt, but then they had 80 to 100km/h winds all day.
Another storm getting up now so I hope he didn't clean those windows. It is worse here now than it was yesterday.
On the down side their Christmas Market on Saturday may get cancelled because of the wind. They have already cancelled the free coffee and soup on the boat as they can't get the boat to where it needs to be.

Much quieter here now
My fence which looked in horrible danger earlier today is still standing thank goodness.
AND
Had a bit of good news - Daughter #2 has actually got their wedding date fixed
now for the bad news - will have to delay any work doing up the house till after that's over and I know how much dosh I have - weddings are not exactly cheap

We had a "Three Prints on a Theme" competition at our club tonight and I got Second Place with my "Alnwick Gardens" so quite pleased with myself.
Will be even more pleased on Monday when I get my K7 camera back from being repaired The *ist DL2 seems to gobble up the batteries in no time

Gwyn - I'll have to contribute After all the warranty on her expired a wee while ago I'm not accepting any returns now
They are about to confirm the Hotel link
As long as the weather is reasonable I'll drive down and pay for 2 nights there .
And the K-x will be coming - even though they are having a proper photographer to do it .
She's bought her dress - I'm now going to have to try and find something swish to wear.

Looks very nice TT. A long drive for you, but could be pleasant enough. I hope you will you break the journey on the way down? I'm not sure I'd want to drive from Glasgow to Kent in one go.
When is the wedding? I hope they plan on taking advantage of that lovely looking garden?
Are you going to get some pampering in while you are there too? As MOB you deserve a bit of pampering after all.
Have fun finding an outfit - I always struggle with that part of it all as I hate shopping.
Weddings are expensive aren't they? We contributed to 2 sons weddings - but they both went for fairly low key, cheapish options thanks heavens. Son #3 says he doesn't intend to get married - he can't see the point in it, not can his partner.
The most expensive weddings for us tend to be those of nieces and nephews as we have to travel to the UK, find somewhere to stay, buy them a present etc etc.
I wouldn't mind if the marriages lasted but two out of the last three were over within three months .
We were due to attend another one in the summer but now she is pregnant so I think it has been postponed for a year.

It's in February !!
As I've never driven that distance Daughter #1 is coming up and will be with me for the drive down - about 9 hours I would think. But of course the weather may well put pay to that idea We shall see nearer the time .
The alternative is I head down to her by train and we all go down on the morning of the wedding [ it's about an hour away from Daughter#1 ]

Sounds like it could be a challenge. Hopefully we won't get a proper winter this year.
It shouldn't be too bad though I suggest you take advantage of the toll M6 rather than the free M6. It is generally quieter and nicer.
Right now I'm just hoping we stay snow and ice free for Christmas.

For a quiet run through the Midlands consider leaving the M6 at Stoke on Trent - Take the A50 all the way to the M1 (by East Mid Airport)
Its free and often quicker than either M6 routes

OOOOH - now that alternative had not dawned on me - thanks Bernard
Raymond always did all the driving so I never actually knew what way we went - I just went along for the ride

Snowed last night. Just enough to be annoying, but not enough to get the camera out.

So I took the boss out shopping this morning.
A little daunting for her as she usually drives, but we went in My new car to get some miles on the clock.
She was more relaxed when we got home and seems to like Eva, that's my new car's name.
After all she is a Punto 'Evo' model!

Forgot to mention the footpaths and roads were covered in ice, so walking and driving were interesting first thing!
No snow though...
