The rioting this week has been bad.
Honesty came across this, LINK, which made me smile.
Then she showed me this, LINK, It may take a couple of attempts to access it.
This is not a political rant just an open thought.

No, we don't do politics.
Anyway, someone gave me five cameras yesterday, how cool is that? One of the them was even a Pentax, only a film compact but still a nice thought.
The others were disc cameras and a Kodak Instamatic, one day they may be collectable!

I'm not going into the politics of the riots
Elder daughter was on holiday this week - but has had to remain on call at home in case she had to go in , so far she's OK.
Personally I think that the wet stuff we have been getting would have been more use down south - it would have emptied the streets quite quickly

We dug out the Mavica this weekend. Charged it up, stuck a floppy in it and it still works. Good job we still have a USB floppy reader.
I had hoped it wouldn't work so I could justify throwing the thing.

What people say on Facebook can be somewhat problematic, but that's the best place for it. It can bite you back though, so be careful out there...

Whilst swmbo is out I descided to clean the windows (earn brownie points.
Problem #1 run out of lemon flavoured gunk that is normally used.
Bright idea #1 - Use plain water with some vinegar added (recently bought some white vinegar to pickle onions)
Results - Beautiful sqeeky clean windows. so what's the problem?
Problem#2 - House smells like a pickle factory/chip shop (I didn't notice at first, but now the bit of sun we're getting has come out....)
Problem#3 - Swmbo will be home soon, but looking on the bright side - it's not the perfume used by the post lady
Notes to self -
#1 Remove the cactus from bedroom window next time.
#2 Don't use pickling vinegar - it's got extra 'smell' in it

On the subject, there were a number of electrical shops looted.
Perhaps we should be careful of cheap gear coming up on fleaBay - cheap aint cheap if you end up having it confiscated!
(Oops, that almost had a point!)

They were (plus miscellaneous deposits from flying creatures) and I've been putting it off (apparently since last September) until the threat of having to pay a window cleaner was muted (in that gentle offhand manner that the ladies are so adept at).
So whilst the ladders were out (I had to attend to a wasps nest under the tiles) yesterday I washed the outside, leaving the inside (with its attendant deposits from much smaller flying creatures) for today.
Windows have all been open since before lunch and it still smells. Maybe if I go and get fish and chips before she gets it I can pretend I've got a meal (boy do I know how to treat a girl).
