AH - but do they have an excess for after midnight ? And err is there a boundary charge ?

I was hit at 11.30 at night for a taxi from the centre of Glasgow home - boundary charge made it £11.50 !! Had no option but a black cab not private hire . Private hire would have been under £8

Before midnight and within the Bradford boundary.

It's a license to print money once they get a Hackney carriage plate!

The private hire down into town was £7, but he took us right to the door, being a Yorkshireman* I made the cab home drop us at the top of the street, I couldn't afford to pay him to go down to our house

* A Yorkshireman is like a Scot with the generosity removed!

Well, it's that time of day again, lunch, a bottle of beer and settle down for the Grand Prix.

Please don't complain about taxi prices until you've been to Edinburgh.

Taxi on Thursday. No boundary charges. 6½ miles. £15.20.

Edinburgh doesn't charge more after midnight. It charges more between 6pm and 6am and all through the weekend.

This already dire summer has hit another new low today, with a magnificent 13C as our day time high. Another 20mm of rain overnight, and still raining too. It will be interesting to read the final statistics for this month.
August doesn't look any better either.

My son is supposed to be going camping in Holland this week with the grandsons, but I can't see that happening. Such a shame for them, as it is their only holiday this year.

What a shame. Makes me feel guilty about sitting indoors on a sunny day like today. I've been into town this morning- massive Hare Krishna parade. Got my forehead marked! Unfortunately didn't have any long lenses. Maybe i'll go back later on the same return train ticket, which didn't get stamped

Good result in Germany for F1, it looks like the later part of the season may be more entertaining.

As for Starwars, when the intro graphics to games are so good why isn't there a full length feature?
