We keep getting the TV people demanding we get a license at our office.

There's no aerial and it's not had a licence for at least 15 years.

But still they try!

They rarely see celestial bodies either in your neck of the woods, especially the brightly lit one we see occasionaly

Oh, he could pick up several satellites perfectly. Part of his farmyard resembled a set for "The Dish"!

I now have an Android tablet PC, which I'm slowly making sense of. I think it should be able to connect to my camera and work as a photo viewer.

I use a netbook for that on holiday.

It started out with 1gig of ram and a 120 gig hard drive, that's all they could sell if they wanted to use WinXP on them.

It now has 2gig ram and a 500 gig drive, a lot better for storing all those holiday shots.

I use my netbook too - but mainly as a storage device. I haven't bothered to load the RAW Codec onto it so I use Irfanview to look at the photos. I only throw out the truly duff ones, and don't do any work on them.
Mine came with Win7, and is just brilliant. I am using it right now.

On a more sober note can I just express my shock at the events in Norway and extend my sympathy to every one there.

Why do the employ so many incompetent people to write stuff on
websites

I want to record the rugby league quarter final (on BBC2)this afternoon off a SKY dish and I've had to click through all the BB2 icons for what's on before I to get to it. When I go the the page it tells me when it starts, but not when it ends (SKY do exactly the same) surely the start and end time are what most people want. I Know in this case I can add 135mins to 16:15, but it's not always that easy and there's a chance that I might make a mistake

...my mate at Staples said go for it!

I did. it did, so much for 'expert staff'

The Norwegian shootings news is just getting worse, they're such a friendly nation how can this happen?

Anyone know how to take it apart and replace the battery?

I find a big hammer and chisel usually does the job..

...but it does make it harder to put back together..

Have you googled the brand to see if there's a handbook available?

Oh well - doesn't look as if Grandson #1 will be going to Welbeck

Seems he got a letter this morning to say he was on the Reserve List . Can't see anyone refusing a place if it's offered , so the only realistic chance is if another candidate makes a real mess of their exams and cannot supply the required grades .

If you find the seam in the plastic case and give it a sharp smack with the plastic handle of a screwdriver, that often breaks the glue line enabling you to move to another place and do the same again. Usually after 3-4 smacks the case pops apart with no damage. Use plastic glue to reseal when you've changed the batteries. There is often a small inline fuse (looks like a resistor with no coloured bands). I would replace that at the same time.
