Another pointless thread

Although not a big fan I find it sad that such a talent is lost at such a young age.

I'm a fan of her music, but not her lifestyle. This was predictable. She's 27, looks forty and now dead... yeah for drugs!
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Hello pointless threaders.

I have not bee on this thread before but thought I might put in my penneth.

Amazing how these young talented people sometimes end up like this.
I think you have to question the industry they are in- they are merely a commodity- an itune download, a concert ticket sale. No good to record execs, agents or A&R men if they are not being peddled to the media 24/7.

Sadly the money men will only benefit from her death- her record sales will inevitably soar.

I think it must be a very lonely industry where friends are hard to come by.

Her first record charted in 2003 and she died at 27- so she was 19 when she found fame. Too young.

It's a sad waste of a great talent....

It is also sad, imho, that the death of an admittedly talented drug addict/alcholic gets a greater response than the earlier couple of comments about events in Norway.

I tend to agree. Maybe it's just that Norway is too much to comprehend.

Back to Black is one of the finest albums in history and Amy's loss is a shame.

Norway is incomprehensible. How any one person (or people if it turns out to be a group) can have that much malice and hatred is beyond me.

Gwyn- Talking about Amy Winehouse does not mean events in Norway are less important.

I know what Gwyn means. But the death of a celebrity will always get more of a response just like we react more strongly to the death of a family member or friend. It's not right, but it's the way it is.

The biggest tragedy unfolding right now is in Somalia... How much coverage has that got in this thread?

The last 24 hours have been the worst time in Norway since WW2. An incomprehensible act apparently done by a single man with extreme right wing sympathies. Tonight 92 persons are confirmed dead, seven in the bomb blast and 85 in the shooting.

But, as our prime minister pointed out very clearly, democracy and freedom will prevail.
Best regards
Terry

Terry - it really is incomprehensible .

I read that he called the youngsters before him - and then just opened fire - absolutely appalling . Those poor kids - and now how their parents are suffering .

Thoughts and prayers with all of you .

My condolences to all the people who have lost loved ones in Norway, and also to Amy Winehouse's family.

On another note what were all the E-Type jags doing out today (M1 and Northampton area)

Rally?

There's an E-type owners club so...

Just in from Bradford after a night on the town, well in 2 pubs and a curry house.

The taxi for a 5 mile drive cost £9.

Now is it just me or is tha a bit steep?
