Same with Virgin. If it hasn't been changed it will be on the router.

You could try holding down the reset for several seconds to return the router to its factory settings then start again (Your manual should give details of this)

Bernard

ps failing that :-

Believe it or not - disabled Airport and shoved in the ethernet cable and left it alone to finish charging up the new battery.

Was using the other machine while scratching my head trying to remember where I had so safely parked the sheet of paper with such very important details.

Have just come back to the Machine together with the password [ found the paper ]

Took out the ethernet cable, switched on airport and lo and behold it connected itself !! No request for the password or anything

How weird is that ??

Me not care - everything is now working as normal

Chalk up a sucess then

By the way I keep a notepad text file with all my passwords and ancillary serial numbers/version numbers etc.

That saves me upturning kit to read obscure labels

I had a hard copy of all this sort of thing but it had done a vanishing stunt and as it had been updated recently I had trashed the original copy so it was no longer on the pooter

I have a habit of , when I go away on holiday, taking this with me , but securely hidden away - and I remembered about that copy and fished it out

Why parents drink!

The boss wondered why one of his most valued employees had not phoned in sick one day.
Having an urgent problem with one of the main computers, he dialed the employee's home phone number and was greeted with a

child's whisper.

'Hello 'Is your daddy home?' he asked. Yes , whispered the small voice.

May I talk with him?' The child whispered, ' No .'

Surprised and wanting to talk with an adult, the boss asked, 'Is your Mummy there?'' Y es .'

'May I talk with her?' Again the small voice whispered, ' No '

Hoping there was somebody with whom he could leave a message, the boss asked,

'Is anybody else there?' ' Yes ,' whispered the child, 'a policeman '.

Wondering what plod would be doing at his employee's home, the boss asked,
'May I speak with the policeman?' ' No, he's busy ', whispered the child.

'Busy doing what?' ' Talking to Daddy and Mummy and the Fireman ,' came the whispered answer.

Growing more worried as he heard a loud noise in the background through the earpiece on the phone, the boss asked,

'What is that noise?' ' A helicopter 'answered the whispering voice.

'What ! is going on there?' demanded the boss, now truly apprehensive.

Again, whispering, the child answered, ' The search team just landed a helicopter.'

Alarmed, concerned and a little frustrated the boss asked, 'What are they searching for?'

Still whispering, the young voice replied with a muffled giggle... 'ME .'

The fun is yet to come

We use a password safe for all our passwords, log-ins, program keys etc.
As long as we remember the password for the safe we are OK .
