Well, we go to collesct a new car on Saturday.
After being messed around by Evans Hal..
..sorry I can't name the really bad dealer..
....after being messed around by a local rip off merchant we ended up at a small independent dealer in Harrogate.
Result is we're getting a brand new, shinny, C4 Picasso in the colour we wanted and with the engine etc that we chose.
Roll on Saturday.

Spelling error, my checker was out when I typed that 'spider.
It should read shiny.
The afore mentioned firm's Bradford Citroen branch has a bad reputation for taking orders for a particular model and then ringing to offer a lower spec, or in one case I know off totally different vehicle at the same price!
When it was Dixon Citroen it did the same sort of thing, then the firm went bust.
I wonder why?

Had similar problems with the wifes Clio from a dodgy Renault dealer in Durkar/Wakefield. We were told (amongst other things) they had the car "In Stock". well that may have been true but they didn't tell us their stock was still in France and it took 8 weeks to deliver it.
I wrote to both the Garages Manager and Renault UK, adding that their behaviour was something I would expect from the likes of Arthur Daley and not an Authorised Dealer.
I got zero response from the dealers Manager (wimp) but did get a phone call from a very apologetic lady at Renault who offered to pick up the tab for the cars first service as a gesture of goodwill

Talking of Nissan, has anyone seen the new one (Juke?)? There was one behind me on the way to work recently, and it was so ugly I found it hard to take my eyes off it. It looked as if someone had got the kit without the instructions and got it seriously wrong when they built it.

Is that the one with the rear window that wraps round only one side. I think that is ugly.

I looked at it v breifly when I was chopping out my Picasso last October. Think it's supposed to be a baby Qashqai with a bit of added zing. Failed the looks test for me too - so I bought the real thing and got a second hand Qashqai in Fired Iron with a lot of add ons.

Nothing really exciting.
Alan broke his lens when he fell at a waterfall in Yorkshire. Luckily the camera was unhurt .
So since we are in Bucks we went over to see if SRS had anything to replace it. Naturally I asked if Chris was around, which he was. It was lovely to meet him, and the rest of the SRS crew. I had a play with the 645D and tried the improved grip on the K-5 limited (which is excellent), and bought an 18-135 while no one was looking.
Oh and Alan got the lens he wanted too.

Enough photography talk .
Off for a Chinese meal tonight then to see the long lost cousin. We managed to delay that until this evening. Still not going to see the red kites, but that is because we are idle rather than can't.

I was talking to a sales manager at the Bradford Nissan dealers and he told me that the Juke was a 'fad' car, expensive for what it is and totally useless in anything wetter than a mild shower.
He'd got stuck in a top model one last winter in the snow!!!
Still, he said, the Juke's OK on sand dunes.
