Gareth ours was Diesel Auto But yes it was a fun car - except for the aquaplaning - I was terrified the first time it did that.

Now if it had done that with our slightly overloaded caravan on the back .........

So this is the task, I have been volunteered to take part in a charity 1960's rock & roll night.

Do any of you remember what clothing we wore? my memory is a bit vague for that era.

Thanks
Colin

we kept the Galaxy till the dog was no more - we took the middle row of seats out for him as he got stiffer with his bad shoulders.

It was replaced by a Seat Altea - again Diesel Auto - now that was superb as a tow car - never rated highly by any of the reviews - but ours was great

We had a 2 litre petrol Grand Vitara. Black, long wheel base, tinted windows and chrome plated alloys. It was alright, I liked it but it was at it's best when it snowed real heavy and I 'forgot' to engage 4wd so it was rear wheel drive! Everytime I came to a corner/roundabout and dabbed the gas it would be soooo tail happy!! It was great!
This was a 5 door Grand Vitara, still on road tyres. It completed Strata Florida in convoy with assorted lifted Discos and mine (standard height and mud tyres) bringing up the rear. The expressions of the group coming the other way were priceless!

We had this fun when we had a 2.8 V6 Galaxy!

It's even more fun with a 3.5 V6 Espace!

The fun part is when they rev at the lights and think they look cool, you look over and they have that smug look on their faces, then you rev the nuts out of the V6 and raise your eyebrows. They always seem to look the other way at the next set of lights as well!

It was even more fun teaching the wife to drive in it!

I really should start driving more sedately, stop all this foot to the floor acceleration etc, over the last few weeks my Qashqai has only been averaging 41.8mpg URBAN!

I never did Strata Florida but I've seen images and footage of that and that's no mean feet so fair play to the GV driver, lots if experience or didn't know what he was letting himself in for? Was Wizard behind the wheel
Oh he knew what was coming up, he's a qualified off-road driving instructor. Not sure his wife knew what was involved!

Strata is currently not too bad providing you don't attempt the bombhole, there were a few clunks from rocks in the bottom of puddles but nothing major.

I used to have a 4 litre Jaguar XJ. Always good fun when someone in a Vectra thought they could outpower you from the lights!
