Too true. We get mice pretty much every year when the temperature drops and place traps in strategic locations to deal with them. From experience:Mice in a house are vermin. They dribble urine continuously and leave droppings wherever they go, and will contaminate any surface they come in contact with. There is never just one mouse in a house.
A good trap will kill them swiftly and humanely - much better than poison for the job, which is a slow painful death, and puts the lives of your own and neighbours pets at risk too.
"Humane" live capture traps aren't. The two mice we caught and released with them looked absolutely petrified and had covered the inside of the trap with condensation. A quick, relatively painless exit to Mousehalla is definitely preferable!
Mice love raisins, which don't rot if left on the trap for a month or more before a mouse wanders past.

I've had a few at times - and very difficult they were to be disposed of too , but now I've dealt with the way they got in - so it's been mouse free this year .
I wouldn't mind some of Tozza's squirrels - now they are fun to watch whereas meeces when you spot them - well you know you are in trouble . Last one I had no idea about till I opened the cupboard under the sink one morning and found 2 little back eyes looking at me !! War was declared

First class one that! As an aside the woods by our house are loaded with cyrils. I know they are v....n but they give hours of entertainment especially when they scrap. LOL

I spent a chunk of Saturday in a mud hole and a chunk of Sunday watching someone take a Suzuki Grand Vitara with no modifications whatsoever over one of the most revered byways in the UK. It came out of the other end with all components still attached and apparently drove home perfectly!

Suzuki Grand Vitara - that brings back some memories - aquaplaning in monsoon conditions one year
Smashing little vehicle for towing a caravan mind - but it had to go after the aquaplaning episode - my husband refused to let me drive it in the rain thereafter . It was replaced by our 'hearse' - a black Galaxy with blacked out windows
