I would say rubber and PVC but I have enough of a reputation with this forum after the Whitby meets!

(And thankfully this thread has finally gone off-topic again. It was in danger of developing a point!)

Music properly recorded always sounds best on proper Hi-Fi. This means powerful amplifiers, large speaker assemblies and correct placement of these within the listening space.

High-end Hi-Fi is very, very expensive these days. It does however soon show up modern compressed CDs. My best sounding CDs date from the earlier days of the technology. We have now gone down a path that has reduced quality.

At least the music industry never went 100% over to cassettes which they were going to do a few years back claiming that was what the public wanted

That's why a corner of my living room is taken up with a stack of "proper" hi-fi components hooked up to good speakers. Can't understand why I never use them

So that's why I still have a Sony turntable attached to a Yamaha amp and speakers like cupboards!

I thought it was because I was too lazy to shift them.

well the PA sub is nearly "done" - it's painted and I'll fit the driver itself in a few. In other news, my 50-200 is now sold and will be delivered tomorrow.

Sounds exiting Gareth.
I know someone who did that then set the cooker hood alight and ended up needing a new kitchen . No not me.

Worn out. I am not cut out for child minding. I didn't enjoy it much with my own children but the grandchildren are just exhausting, especially after nearly 12 hours of them.

Probably a repeat performance on Monday too.

The best bit about being a grandparent, so I'm told, is winding the grandkids up and filling them full of coke and Macdonald's then giving them back to their parents.

It's called revenge for all the sleepless nights while being only a parent.
