Glad to hear all is now well TT.
I had the Vesta risotto this evening (or at least part of it). It was gopping with a slight taste of fish. I think the Chow mien might be safe.

-27 forecast for Thursday. Not impressed.
At least the "fridge", a.k.a the new sub for work, is looking like a fridge. It's going to be candy pink at the moment, too, unless I can find some cheap paint tomorrow Don't know how it will go down, but I have no option to spray with the garage as cold as it is.
I think I might try and get a tin of red. We should have some, but I can't find it - and I *know* that will take at least three coats to cover the white primer. Might even try and find some grey undercoat as that would ease the issue....and a roller. But I know I'm also already redoing it (stupid me, I figured I could sand PVA...) I'm think I'm going to have a little fun

I've just had a look at Amazon and the original CD is available used at some ridiculous price. The remastered version is apparently not as good quality-wise, suffering from severe compression.
I'm surprised how many of my CDs are now collector's items.

A bit off-topic, but I've taken to buying all my music as MP3 downloads. Played through a decent system and a good pair of speakers, the quality is as good as any CD, to my tin ear. Plus you can distribute the tunes to most pieces of modern technolgy -- MP3 players, computers, smart phones etc. Trying to buy Paul Simon - Graceland cd - £20 seems to be about the average price ????
Having said that, I'm too embarrassed to use my MP3 player in public and netbook speakers are useless. That leaves a relatively cheap Aldi "multi-media player" coupled with good speakers as my main music centre. A 16MB flash drive holds many albums. I see Amazon have a Graceland download for £7.49, so there's a price benefit. Another advantage becomes clear if you're feeling tearily nostalgic after a few glasses of your favourite poison. You can be playing that half-remembered classic from your youth within minutes.

If you care about what you're listening to, use FLAC. MP3 drops all information below 50Hz ("not important") and anything under 320kbps is definitely audible on a £100 pair of headphones.
OGG is better (welcome OGG, please, as *the* video codec for HTML5) but even level 5 isn't really up to scratch.
Of course, if you're seriously considering netbook speakers as a valid audio source, then maybe 80kbps is enough. I'm using professional level soundcards, mics and am building a simple set of clear monitors for my desk as we're reviewing audio for our videos and it needs to be good. You reminded me that I hadn't actually re-ripped graceland in FLAC - I brought it with me to the office this morning

My graphics card went belly up this morning
Spent the best part of three hours sorting it out, my tower is a pain to get into position and hide the plethora of cables, not to mention the humping about of printers & filing cabinets etc etc, though to be fair a full half hour of that time was spent rummaging round the freezing garage trying to find an old graphics card
The PC is now up and running, albeit with only one monitor and a distinct lag when trying to do anything remotely coupled with graphics.
Now I am faced with telling the wife I need to spent a lot of money on a new graphics card just after buying a K5, does anyone need a lodger
