Hmm, Hobgoblin, I prefer Goliath.

In fact there's two bottles in the cupboard, a sort of stand by beer!

Aaaaaaaaah!

A very much better week at Oggy towers this week.

Regular readers will remember in last week's episode I had had a lot of trouble with my electrons and I was pretty much frazzled.

This week I have taken no nonsense off them and they have been much better behaved. All deadlines met, all targets exceeded, all pigs fed, watered and ready to fly.

I got the car ready for winter today - lots of tread on all tyres and all wheels where they are meant to be (4 on axles, one in the spare carrier and one in a skip as opposed to 4 on axles, 1 in the boot and one in the passenger footwell.

I then made the Christmas pud. Tradition is that I make the pudding and Mrs Oggy makes the cake. I really enjoyed doing it. The smell is so nice and I get to nibble nice things that were left over like nuts and maraschino cherries. I even treated myself to a glass of brandy while I was doing it. Morse was on in the background and the overall effect was to take me back about twenty years. Nice.

Only problem is that although I cannot remember calling in an airstrike against our kitchen, someone evidently did.

No snow here. I nipped into the local village earlier to get some stuff and one of the local charities had a bit of a bash going on. I think the chap playing the carols must have a bit deaf. That volume would have suited Motorhead, but not Silent Night.

Our snow continues, although main roads have now been cleared so you have pretty scenery, untreated back roads to play with, but you can reliably get to places should you need to!

Having a difficult decision. See, my brother's bought me a Red Snapper tripod with the 3-way head (not had it yet but I'm expecting great things judging by reviews I've seen). Do I spend £50 on the ball head to go with it or do I spend the same on upgrading a couple of Marklin HO scale model railway locos to the latest digital control standards?

URGH !

At this point I should be heading to Edinburgh [ my Church is there -- don't ask why ]

BUT we had snow overnight again and the sky is very snowy and I think there is a slight falling of snow [ not easy to see from inside ].

I've got another 2 hours to do in the garden later and I'm staying home .

My wife was supposed to go and see Michael Collins (clarinettist) play last night, cancelled due to snow, I'm supposed to go and see Steve Hackett (Genesis Guitarist)in Gateshead tonight and the car is buried under six inches of snow this morning.

I suppose I should have gone to see the Newcastle Jets whip LA Galaxy's arse, but it was a foregone conclusion. Sorry Mr. Beckham. Now, how about that cricket??

-5 overnight here and -1 now - not a breath of wind and clear blue skies and pale sunshine. The Cyrils are staying in bed and the munchkin and her mummies have headed home - Jo and I are pooped !!

Bit of a bad do last night - 3-50am awoke to the sound of a hatchback car t-boning the tree on the other side of the road at great speed - horn blowing for about 2 minutes and then deathly hush................lot of neighbour activity and ambulance within 10 minutes.Nobody could get into the vehicle and the fire brigade arrived and then the police - cutting gear and 30 minutes later a driver was placed in the ambulance and about 10 minutes later it drove off.3 fire tenders and a search & rescue vehicle disappeared, paramedic car drove off and two police Motorway patrol cars left.Just an unmarked police car with its red lights flashing quietly and the whole thing over in less than 75 minutes.........................recovery vehicle arrived about 5-15 and by 6-00 it was deathly quiet again until the first of the morning speedsters flashed by blissfully unaware of anything !!
Bad feeling about it I`m afraid but can`t find anything else out at the moment.

By the sound of it the Cyrils are wise staying tucked up .

Sounds as if you are colder than us , but at least you have pale blue skies - wish I had.

Glad the car driver was got out as swiftly as that - not nice being an onlooker , even less being actually involved.

Take the day quietly

the car now says -15 and I believe it. Was just out dropping the little monster off to swimming and it's dark at four o'clock such that I need to use headlights.

Will be like this for another two months......

That's the down side of living so far north, it gets dark early and lasts a long time.

Still, when spring comes and it all starts to get warmer the scenery makes up for it.

TT, I love Scotland, but not the midges, Bret, I've yet to visit Finland but hope to one day. If it's anything like Denmark, Norway and Sweden it'll be worth the trip.

Just stopped snowing here, my sons out on a driving lesson, I hope all's going well for him.

I love being a "student" just got 10% discount at Matalan and Staples.

No snow here, not sure of the temperature sensor has been on the blink in the car for a couple of months.

All I know is its cold.

Well we set off at 9am for a Christening in Glasow at 11am.

At 11am we had travelled less than half the distance and were stuck in a huge queue on the M8 and finally gave up and headed home.

Guess who had volunteered to be the official photographer!

Good grief - my decision not to go was correct then

Meantime - guess what I'm going to have to do today - AGAIN

This really is getting boring and I've a new toy supposed to be arriving tomorrow so won't really be able to go out and play with it - unless temps go up about 15 degrees and we get blue sky .

Me is CHEESED OFF !!

Interesting morning - very cold and frosty here - sunny and bright and just reached 1 degree.

I have been doing a 15 minute piece to camera for a pitch to the power Company Eon for an energy/money saving idea I had and submitted to their website. They are doing a sort of Dragon`s Den along with 3 other ideas to find the best/most practical/profitable.

Great fun and hopefully the idea will be accepted.............I`ll hear from MGM studios later in the week probably !!!

Maybe not..................Tony
