Ah, mine's the original film KX!

The only digital body I own is the K-m, and I'm always a bit uneasy about taking it out when it's raining or snowing as it doesn't have weather sealing. The old film bodies are less likely to have any trouble and if one does get wrecked it'll cost me a lot less to replace than the K-m.

On the other hand,DM, if the K-m got wet and stopped working it'd give you a good excuse to buy a K-5/7.

Really can't afford that, my budget just about stretches to more screwmount bodies!

I seem to have managed to end up with "user" versions of the KX and MX which function perfectly but aren't 100% mint, as a result I'm quite willing to sling them over a shoulder and scramble up a hillside or two.

Up here, depending which weather site you use , it's varying from - 1 to -3C

A tad chilly - but as yet no descent of white stuff - that's further North

-2 here now, and still no white stuff thank goodness. Since it is also a bit misty we may get a lovely hoar frost tomorrow.

If it's any consolation to you all - parts of Californa, not too far from LA are also experiencing frosts - -2 again last night. Some places, not at a great altitude either, have already had -9 .
Even central LA is only 7C at night.

So much for California Dreaming on such a Winter's day.

Frost in CA not that unusual - although it is a little bit early early in the season. Few years ago most pepper trees in SB county perished due to over a week of frost. In Jan 1999 snow fell at sea level and stayed around for a whole day. But there's the difference - a few days later and it's warm again.

ARGH

I shouldn't have opened my big mouth

About to get on my snow clearance gear [ fleece and long thin driving/riding mac. , heavy shoes , gloves ] and open the garage to get my snow shovel out and clear the place while I can .

Oh well - chances of using the K-x for a bit have now vanished - while the snow lasts I'm going to have very sore elbows again

Snowed here too last night, woke up to a winter wonderland not surprising though, the tempreture gauge was flashing -2 in the car on Thursday evening, might take the car out for a spin and see how it handles snow

layingback - I know frost is not unusual in CA, but it is early this year, after an odd summer too.
My husband has been skiing in the morning and surfing in the afternoon on visits to SoCal.

A grey day here. No hoar frost sadly. Slight flurries of snow, but nothing serious. That is due Tuesday/Wednesday now, along with a strong wind. Not going to get above freezing today, and the windchill makes it feel colder.
Skaters are getting excited already .

Lovely clear sky, covering of snow on the ground and 2 tons of wood stacked after this mornings delivery.

Our wood supplier's dog died recently, he used to sit in the tractor cab and guard it while Paul dropped of the bags. He had to make do with second best this morning, his wife was with him!

Just back from Morribunds with tonight's pizza and 8 bottles of Rigwelter.

It's bl**dy cold out there and the floor is treacherous, I'm so glad I'm not going out again.

We are off to say goodbye (again!) to our daughter-in-law this evening, and hand over the image tank so she can take it with her to Oz next week.

3 months in Oz sounds very attractive right now. Shiver shiver.

Have spent a great day wandering in the snow, currently four inches. I am now going to settle down with something spicy and a bottle of Hobgoblin.

-whatever and it's snowing (again). Only what... four-five inches here, too, but it's already started to compact and the roads are great fun.

-24 forecast for early next week, which is a bit much, even for here, this early in winter.
