Whitley Bay deep fried haggis and chips, washed down with a couple of bottles of Newcastle brown ale.

That defies Newton’s fifth law of digestion! Whitley Bay deep fried haggis and chips, washed down with a couple of bottles of Newcastle brown ale.
Best regards

It may be heresy, but haggis is much better deep fried in batter. Much like pizza.

Finance, Santander are a waste of time, space and effort!
After numerous cock ups, losing payments and false interest charges I've closed the card.
Now it's only SAGA and Amex when abroad. No trouble with them.

Trouble with Amex is that it isn't widely accepted. The fees they charge the merchandiser are very high apparently so many places won't accept it.
My husband has an Amex connected to his KLM Flying Blue account. He uses it for business, but it is often not accepted and so the expenses go our Visa card .

I regret to inform the world of the passing of a much-loved family member...
The Chinon slide projector which has been in the family since the 1980s is no more! I dug it out today for a bit of nostalgia, as I've just had a batch of slides back from Boots. Unfortunately I found some marks in the beam, which upon closer inspection turn out to be a couple of gouges in one of the (plastic) internal lenses and, even worse, a strange bubbly melted bit where it obviously shifted and then became jammed against the glass lens behind it.
I have tried to rub down and polish the bubbled section but it seems to go into the lens, so there's no way I could remove it all without causing weird distortions in that area. Unless anyone has a dead Chinon 5000 Auto with good internal lenses I think this one's had it.

How is it they can forecast snow on Thursday since Sunday... and now, when it's Thursday, they suddenly change it?
I'm beginning to think the BBC isn't the only one with a truly incompetent forecasting computer.... . I wanted some more to go out and play with the car in
