So the postman came today with a package. Addressed to me.
Funny I thought, I haven't ordered anything. Oh maybe a birthday present??

So I open the package. Yes a birthday present, but not mine. My son's. His wife ordered it and paid for it, using their address, in a completely different town to us, at the other end of the country. And yet it was delivered here.

I phoned him and told him I had his present, and he was going to phone the shop and give them a bollocking.

I ordered something from the same shop last year, so I am in their database, and they sent it to the wrong person.

Luckily it came to me, and didn't go to some total stranger

He'll have to wait even longer for his present now as he is back sailing for the next two weeks and I won't be able to get it to him.

I can beat that one...

Many years ago Mum ordered my birthday present from a well-known model train dealer. It arrived, then a few months down the line a load of stuff she hadn't ordered at all turned up. It appeared that they were keeping personal details including card numbers on file (which they shouldn't have been doing in the first place) and had picked the wrong customer data out - fairly impressive data protection breach!

The shop has since closed due to the retirement of the owners.

Did you - er retire them?

We're stretching the bbq season out as far as possible. Just had Sainsbury's Organic beefburgers in a bin with bacon, cheese, onions, relish and mustard. These have to be the best burgers I have ever had. If you bought steak which tasted this good, you'd be pleased. (I hope that's not a commercial :blush. I have just about mastered our small Weber and can cook with it in the dark. I'll probably admit defeat when BST changes to GMT and dig out the curry ingredients.

This evening has been spent recommissioning the central heating, much to Mrs Oggy's pleasure. I OTOH am now sitting here stewing.

Just in from Leeds.

Been out for (another)curry with friends.

The women in Leeds seem to be impervious to cold, short(and I mean SHORT!) skirts and high heels seem to be the norm!

When I were a lad...

All phones bar one are now working correctly I'm not worrying about the one socket that doesn't work - it's in my visitor's bedroom

They are now working on mounting my lovely Azulejos on the kitchen wall .

This was actually done for us in Portugal - it's from a scan of an old photo in a book we found of our Main Street many years ago . It's not blue , but shades of brown and we had it mounted before , supported by a worktop. Now it's going on the wall above all my nice new tiles , and supported , we hope by a custom frame/support since it is rather heavy , having already been mounted on a board some 10 years ago .

The end is in sight
