We had a holiday on Crete and there was lamb on every menu. Then someone mentioned they had seen a lot of goats but no sheep.

Yes, but a bit stronger flavour - so maybe nearer mutton. Unless it's kid that is, which needs cooking with care so as not to ruin in.

Goat is a staple on La Palma. They have some massive goats too - the size of small cows .
Goat stew is wonderful, and BBQed kid is pretty good too. They also make a very tasty hard goat's cheese there.
One of our dogs is a goat herder from La Palma. Until we saw the size of the goats there we couldn't understand why they needed such big dogs for the job.
Sausages and lentils sounds good.
We had Puy Lentils in Le Puy en Velay (home of the lentil) on our trip back from France. Delicious. Funnily enough though I had the vegetarian meal - and didn't get lentils.

Not suprised, your avatar suggests you are a spinach person

Since I now have an empty shell for a kitchen , my microwave is up stairs in my newly done sitting room [ along with the fridge that works in the car ] , so since my wonderful wee decorator guy [ who doubles as a sparky ] has gone to get his lunch I went up and popped the Celery soup I took out of the freezer first thing this morning to heat it for my lunch only to find
he's been working on tracing where something was connected and has knocked off my upstairs power circuit !! So having to have yet another cold lunch
I was looking forward to that soup too
Once he's back I'll get him to make sure he puts the electricity back on there.

You aren't having much luck with electrics are you.
Hope you can have the soup later today.
The freezer isn't on that circuit too is it?

Nope - we have ensured that the freezer will always be on a different circuit from the rest of the kitchen .
Oh I'll have my microwave working tonight soup will just be put in the wee fridge for tomorrow - but I was really looking forward to it .
My boxes of kitchen units are arriving [ according to the suppliers ] between 10.30 and 1.30 today - 35 mins to go - I do hope they will be here soon

I've had goat curry too. But I like goat meat, in most forms.
