I've got a spider travelling with me in the door mirror. How do I get rid of it, prefereably not by dimantling the mirror!

I think the only way to get rid is to catch it out of the mirror and physically remove it. I tend to ignore them as sooner or later they'll leave of their own accord.

Show it an endangered insect colony on the edge of extinction. It will scuttle off, out of the mirror, to feast and trample its eight feet all over the fantasy of intelligent design.I've got a spider travelling with me in the door mirror. Or
I've heard their webs are only designed to survive up to 115mph winds. So travelling faster than this will see it off, "honestly officer".
Or
paint lipstick on it and call it Nadine. and pap it when you're bored.
Lurking is shirking.!

I should have added - My cousin who lives in Melbourne goes mental when she gets a spider in her door mirror. Apparently they have poisonous ones out there!

Gwyn - that's too easy a solution
Now if you are having thunder and lightning
get off the pooter , shut it down and unplug it

All the ones my son drives, land Rovers and Range Rovers have them. Even the one we were driven in to get to Kilimanjaro airport, in Tanzania had one.
My Kangoo (no name) has one too.
Kitty 2 (the Prius) doesn't. Must be a Toyota thing since none of our Toyotas have had them, nor the Landcruiser in Tz, or the RAV4 in the US.
