Careful there - this is getting a point again.

It was a lovely day today - sunny and 23C. Of course I was on a train or in an exhibition hall all the time - just my luck. Normal service resumed tomorrow - wet, wet and more wet.

Just had 9 holes with Joclick - arrived back as the rain descended - shame really it was a nice day - at least still warmish and no wind - hot bath and a Vino Espagnole now methinks - and there`s a bottle of Jim Beam to savour in the freezer !!!!!!

It seems to be possible to avoid listing postage charges to the UK from the rest of the EU, so why we can't say we're not willing to post to Italy is beyond me.

Mind you, I think German ebayers are still sore from 1945 judging by the way they charge outrageous sums to post to the UK. Explain how it apparently costs £6 to post an item from Holland and £14 to post the same thing from Germany! I can only assume that they don't like the effort involved in posting things here and set a fee which makes it worth their while to do so.

Gwyn, you went to the Photokina today, didn't you? What was it like - did you see/play with the K-5? Or did you post about it elsewhere on the forum?

There is a method of refusing a bid, although it's not something that I usually do so I can't tell you what the process actually is.
Best regards, John

The answer is simple Gareth, in your listing you specify that foriegn bidders must contact you for postage costs prior to bidding, if anyone contacts you from Italy you scare them off by quoting full blown Airsure with tracking to destination, if they want it badly enough they'll pay and your covered for loss.

Ebay T&C state that it is the sellers responsibility to ensure safe delivery of the goods, so all you are doing is trying to make 100% sure the goods reach the buyer

If I'm willing to post abroad I state in the description, otherwise I always state UK only and refuse bids from abroad.

The only problem I've had with foreign bidders was a Pentacon lens that went to China.

The buyer said it wasn't as described and was different to the one in the photo!

It WAS the one in the photo, there was no follow up from him.

That's a strange looking chocolate biscuit! Perhaps you should send it back "not as described"?
