It's a great feeling I can tell you .
I was very very afraid I was going to have to get a sparky in and I was shuddering at the thought of the bill
It took me all of yesterday to establish just where the problem was [ in general terms ] and today I finally IDd the problem and by 4pm I had the solution and everything was working properly again

My daughter did some decorating a few years back and decided she would replace the light switches, she managed quite well with the simple ones but then I got a call for help.
She had removed a three gang switch which formed part of a three way circuit for the hallway, a switch for the bathroom and one for the seperate WC, there was also a live feed taken to supply the kitchen switch, It was like spaghetti junction, the wires were ALL RED and unmarked

I've been replacing Land Rover door hinges. Now I need to get everything realigned as apparently their approach to panel gaps and tolerances was "make everything adjustable" so while all is properly attached it doesn't line up too well!

Ahh, memories of water coming through door seals, windows, windscreens...it doesn't line up too well!
...and that was only in a light shower!
My little FIAT is water tight so I stay dry now, but I can't go down half the tracks I used too.

Industrial bucket-sized quantaties of tea being made today - the builders and all their sub-contractors have descended en-masse this morning. My poor kettle...!

I think these are essential for a house, why didn't you have them done sooner On the bright side, doors, windows, and heating will all be in shortly.

Look how long you've waited for the K5, half past four is a doddle.

Now the K5 is out and the speculation can cease. Can we get back on topic. Winter is nearly upon us and there is wood to chop

Classic on the Land Rover is the alpine lights, the bendy boot windows in the roof. They leak but you don't know as the water travels behind the plastic trim into the spongy boot floor sound proofing. Here it rots the boot floor away, thats a fun job to replace
I had the fortune of having a really non water tight landy. It rained inside also when it was raining outside. Had to take the roof lining out without bending it, unscrew both the sunroof torque bolts, resilicone them and then retighten, then silicone the outter trims also, unblock the drain channels for the sunroofs and then unbolt the rook bars, resilicone and then retighten. Never leaked after that but what a task
I'm really glad that I don't have sunroofs! The door is still wonky but it closes properly, so there's not much I can do. If I've got it properly muddy I put about £4 in the garage jetwash and blast the underside thoroughly before finishing off with a foam brush and rinse on the visible bits. I don't find much rot as a result.
