Scotland seems to have caught the brunt today. Tragic news about the school trip.

Yep, I thought it was sick the way they were already on about "Police" "deciding whether it should have taken place". That coach driver will have done training that a BBC announcer would be petrified by, if they thought it wasn't safe they would not have made the journey. I remember in my school days the decision to shut came from the bus company, who'd phone the school and say that they weren't happy (or that things looked bad and they wanted to send the buses now)!
It was a simple accident with a tragic result. Don't they feel the driver has enough to deal with at the moment without the media hinting that he/she wasn't up to scratch?

There will be full investigations done, of that I'm certain - it was a tragedy that's true.
The Coach company is not the largest by any manner of means - indeed I've never heard of them , which does suggest they really did do local work - which would also indicate that they had excellent knowledge of the roads in that area.

I'm actually quite glad the snow has melted immediately here. I have flu and my Land Rover clutch has had it, so neither party is in a state to make use of snow!

I still own a 1987 Yugo. And it is not very reliable anymore. But it is a lot of fun. It's kind of like a Ford (fix or repair daily) and a Fiat (fix it again, tony) combined.
