I planted some seeds for Romanesco Green and White Cauliflower yesterday - the photo on the packet looks rather similar

With every thing else going on you can see why. But looking back through this thread it looks like we missed it 10th birthday. Happy belated birthday

Good grief. We have lost a fair few contributors since then haven't we? Some gone to the great beyond, some just gone to the who knows where?

I like romansco cauliflower. Very photogenic

So the 10th birthday of this thread was the day that the PM announced that "We're taking away the ancient, inalienable right of free-born people of the United Kingdom to go to the pub". Ironic, in view of a recurring topic here...

Perhaps we should sing 'Happy Birthday dear thread' while washing our hands.

Does that mean we're going to be a communist state?

Or worse, we all have to work for bu**er all and serve Rees-mogg and his ilk?

Oooh! PUB, well, I'll just drink at home then...
Cheers, HG

Just emptied the washing machine..

...the usual wash, t-shirts, shorts and a pair of motorcycle gloves..

Er! GLOVES!!

They'd fallen into the laundry basket and I just shoved everything in without checking!

Still, they're now fresh, if a little(lot?) wet..
Cheers, HG

The other half has started her foray into green-fingeredness. She's used a couple of simple seeds kits (can't remember what variety of flowers), as well as planting some lettuce stubs we had left over from some shop-bought lettuce, leaving the tops of the stubs exposed. It looks as though the lettuce is starting to take already with some verdant green growth seemingly at the exposed area. Excited to see how this goes, and how it'll fuel her new-found hobby!
Edit: hopefully the dogs won't chomp on the lettuce... they have been known to have a little from time to time. Also partial to some cucumber, tomatoes, fresh carrot and frozen peas!

Fresh home grown leaf...

...the sparrows around here love it!

So we have to grow it in a cage, it looks like a dangerous plant selection!

+1 for frozen peas. My dog comes running hopefully when she hears things being removed from the freezer. She likes raw beetroot, too - messy though .
