If we risk overloading a system, we either don't use the system past capacity and suffer the collateral damage or we expand and strengthen the system to cope with extra capacity.

Why can't I see the second option being ever happening?

May the fourth be with you.

Washed and polished the 4x4 today as it was ideal weather. It may be SORNed but it looks well shiny.

Walking the dog yesterday, put the camera to the eye, noticed that my glasses felt a bit odd. One of the pads that rests on the nose was missing. It was on the side that's pressed against the viewfinder. Turns out it had broken off at the narrow bit that connects to the frame. I'm wondering whether frequent pressing of the viewfinder on that side was the cause. Has anyone else had the problem?

No, but a two part frame sprung apart when riding through France last year, everything went squiffy!

I had to waer a spare pare of specs for the rest of the tour.

Boredom makes you do those jobs that just...

Finally got the rear view camera installed in the new car, 2 hours, a bit of fiddling and it works great.

During lockdown ones hobbies get neglected.

I always will remember, t'was a year ago November.
On a morning bright and clear, I went out to hunt some deer.
I went and shot the maximum the games laws would allow, 2 game wardens 7 hunters and a cow.
The law was very stern it, took away my permit.
The worst punishment I ever endured.
It turned out there was a reason, cows were out of season, and one of the hunters wasn't insured.
But I've 10 stuffed heads in my trophy room right now.
2 game wardens 7 hunters and a pure bred Guernsey cow.

I didn't write this, It was a record from the 50's.

Do what you can to enjoy your hobbies during lockdown.

CHEERS Vic.
Born again biker with lots of Pentax bits. Every day I wake up is a good day. I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas.

Vic, stuffing a cow is pretty low down on my list of priorities!

It was next door's home brew after walking the dog this evening. And very good it was, too. Still fermenting in the bottle (hence a magnificant head!) and the 'extra hops' gave it plenty of flavour. He's brewer of choice for the hops that have just started a growth spurt at the bottom of my garden. Hopefully the lockdown will be over by the time our combined efforts reach completion, so we can sit down together to enjoy and congratulate ourselves on a fine product.

Attention all bread makers!

I asked nicely at the bakery door in my local Tesco and was given some live yeast. And remarkably, there was no charge for it . It wasn't advertised, just a word of mouth thing. Not sure whether it's just a local thing or happening nationally. However, if (a big if...) you have flour but no yeast, it might be worth a polite ask.

Those who know about these things tell me it's not much good for automatic bread makers, but just what you need for hand-made bread. Don't all rush at once, folks!

Sounds like you were on the right thread, pretty pointless buying things for a car in lock down..

..but after last nights 'boris show' it looks like you may be able drive further than the shops...

I got two bags at Lidl last week and two tins of corned beef, the first in six weeks.
Corned beef pie yum yum.
