Yup, that makes another area being exploited by a 'lack' of policing. Have had some coming the wrong way down roads near me or on pavements, or off-road in the countryside nearby. Not ideal.

Hardly a new phenomenom. Over 50 years ago I saw a car driver get fed up with waiting for traffic lights to change at a cross roads, so mounted the pavement, went past the light (still on the pavement) and took the left turn.Yup, that makes another area being exploited by a 'lack' of policing. Have had some coming the wrong way down roads near me or on pavements, or off-road in the countryside nearby. Not ideal.
And just before the current lockdown, I helped a friend take his car in for repair because an idiot in a big car had come round a bend in a country lane on the wrong side of the road. He accused friend of driving too fast, to which friend said no, 25-30mph. Idiot refused to accept it, so friend asked the woman in the car behind him. She said it was hard to be exact, but something like 25-30mph. End of idiot's aggression. His insurance company is now paying for an expensive repair to a Lotus.
Reminds me of Latin classes at school: "After me class 2A: There were idiots; there are idiots; there will be idiots...". Or was that English grammar? Or French verbs?

OK, I know I'm cranky and anti-social but..
..why was there a queue of 60+ people outside a supermarket at 8.00 this morning?
Social distancing is all well and good, but a 60 person queue waiting to go into a supermarket is ludicrous!
As I said, I'm a little cranky, all I want is a loaf and some milk...

It's Good Friday HG, so everyone needs to stock up with enough food for a fortnight to get through the long weekend. Afterall the shops are shut on Sunday, how will they cope????
I went and did my usual weekly shop yesterday, very quiet again, but the shops here are allowed to stay open longer today (normally they have to close early for GF), and will be open all weekend. His Nibs went to the butcher, which was empty, and bough a lovely (I hope) piece of lamb. Came from overseas - one of the islands off the coast . The bakers was also empty so he bought a decent loaf while he was passing.

Spent half of yesterday in a queue outside the pharmacy followed by another at the post office. Thank goodness it wasn’t raining! Her indoors keeps taking the ale out of the fridge to make room for food (!) so I decided to help reduce the congestion.

Does a 225 mile delivery for Doom Bar from Rock count as local?

Luckily our lock down is not as tight as in the UK, so we weren't likely to get a fine, especially as our son is registered as living with us.
A friend of ours owned a house in or near Rock, inherited from an aunt. Can't remember where exactly it was, we never went there. They used it as a family holiday home for many years, with their kids and grandkids and cousins, until they had to sell it to pay for nursing home care. They did very nicely out of the sale, but were heartbroken at having to sell up. No Ferraris were involved, and the only Hummer was their dog - a Jack Russell .
