I couldn't be bothered to lug the gear out. It was too cold for me. I just thought we'd have a quick look for it since it was clear. It is supposed to naked eye visible now.

No snow forecast here thank goodness, but a windchill of -11 is putting me off doing any more comet/meteor hunting!

Fed the birds this morning then went in to make coffee and watch them. Not a bird in sight, except for one on the apple tree. I thought at first it was a pigeon but then I put my glasses on and realised it was a sparrow hawk! No wonder all the little blighters had scarpered.

Spotted the tail of a Sparrow Hawk whilst it sat on a telegraph wire with it’s back to me. I congratulated myself for noticing the bird as I normally fail to see the blooming obvious things around me.

Before flying off the bird turned side on to confirm that it was, in fact, a pigeon. No wonder the flock of little birds in the nearby trees weren’t bothered. Sigh.

In Tunisia a few years ago I watched a hawk raiding house martin nests on the hotel facade; assuming it was an African “first” I poured through the guide book only to conclude it was a kestrel.

We have a sparrowhawk that raids the bird table nextdoor.

The blighter never sits still long enough to get a photo

Sunday TV isn't my thing so it's a movie on Netflix and beer...

Lucky you, our tv is on continuous Murdoch Mysteries. Which is why I am doing this.

The Apprentice is on. So are my headphones. Whilst Mrs LTL is watching I am listening to The Cult and being here. I have forgotten just how good they are.

Hot spicy apple juice for me tonight. There's a pot of it on the hob augmented with slices of orange and lime.

The QI repeat was worth a laugh. So it MOTD2 - Liverpool 3 Man U 1 always good for a laugh round here.

DH is from Oldam and as well as Latics he is a Man U man. I sort of follow Liverpool after going to see them back in teh day with an Scouse ex boyfriend.

Off to bed now.

Car turbo finally gave up the ghost.. I'm getting a wooooooo sound at every blip of the throttle.

I thought I'd insure my dads old car but before that left the driveway a coil spring broke. Now I'm all out of cars
