I have new glasses, my first varifocals. So far I am not impressed with them. Only had them a few hours it's true but they are driving me nuts.
I know I have to give them time and all that, but right now I feel like taking them back. I have two weeks to decide whether or not to keep them.
I haven't picked up the camera yet to try them with that. Goodness knows it hat will work.
I've had varifocals for a few years now and as you say it just case of getting used to them. Particularly having to move your head in two directions rather than just up and down. That's down to the narrower field of view. I like them for driving as you don't get the bifocal line when you glance down at the dash board.I have new glasses, my first varifocals. When it come to the camera, I have to say I just look over the top of my glasses to see into the viewfinder

Gwyn - tip my optician gave me - and it works - point your nose at whatever you are looking at .
Sounds daft - but I've been wearing varifocals now for years and I really can't remember having any problem with them. I drove home from the Opticians wearing them the day I was given them

Where did August go?
And why did it take summer with it?
It only seems like yesterday that we were too hot and needed refreshment all the time, now it's getting time to sort out the winter warmers.
Honesty and Jo now in Lancaster, which means we have an empty house. The food is lasting longer and it's quieter, I think I can get used to it.

They do take getting used to. I now like mine (after 2 to 3 years!) for general use. Good for reading during the TV advert-breaks, for instance . Lousy to use at a computer screen. I recently bought myself fixed focus glasses specifically for use with a screen at about arms length.I have new glasses, my first varifocals. ... I like mine for general driving, but I still have to take them off when reversing the car. One just can't judge clearances properly with varifocals on. A nurse at the local hospital made the same remark a while ago when I mentioned that I had changed to varifocals.
Keep on trying for the two weeks.

Ya menace
Should have been a wee bit more specific - do you look backwards or do you check on things first and then use mirrors ?
