Why bother with a camera in that case. I was amazed at the number of people using iPads for their photographs in Norway.

There was one woman onboard who walked around videoing with her iPad. SHe had it in a case, with a keyboard, so it was like walking around with a laptop. She spent all her time talking to the thing and watching the scenery through the screen. Having done her video for the day she retreated indoors and was only seen on deck again the following day for that day's walk around teh deck talking to herself.

If I were going to recommend a P&S, or even a bridge camera I would go for another camera company beginning with P personally. I'm looking to by my grandson a second-hand one for Christmas. He's 7 so he's not getting an expensive new one.
That's actually plan Z - everything else I thought of for him is already being given on December 5th by his Dutch family.

Have any members taken an "active" part in this Movember thing ? I overheard a couple of ladies talking about Fanuary in the New Year ::

I try and keep my moustache in trim all year round .

I haven't seen any men around here sprouting new facial hair for Movember. They are as clean shaven or not as they are the other 11 months.

As for Fanuary - more and more ladies are going au-naturel anyway and let's face it how many people are going to see whether one needs some gardening down there or not? A bandwagon, jumped upon methinks.

I haven't got a moustache even though I should have.....

Algernon is a given name which derives from the Norman-French
soubriquet Aux Gernons, meaning "with moustaches".

Jeez, I'm away from this thread for a few days and it descends into camera and photography talk!

I expect the rest of this page to be nothing more than a list of liquid refreshments which people are planning to numb out the Universe with!

Or there'll be trouble!

I'll be having a glass of wine with Christmas dinner and a glass of whisky on New Year's Day.
