Just had a Duvalo, I'd forgotten how good spirits can be as an aperitif..
....next, wine and a grouse pottage with Yorkshire puddings..
.....good job I start work late tomorrow!

Lou Reed. Dead. Hard to imagine that he created some of the most shocking and beautiful music all that time ago - think I'll have a glass of red wine and put on the "Banana" record, vinyl of course.
RIP

On a happier note I saw Al Stewart in concert last night. He was brilliant. Both he and his band seemed to be really enjoying themselves. I now understand some the words to his songs. Apparently Antarctica was about a woman that would not go out with him

So what happened to the storm? It's been blue skies and gentle breezes here.

It came down my street, and knocked two trees over, one of which landed on my car, fortunately doing only minor damage. So what happened to the storm?
Annoyingly, it is usually parked near the ones I thought were more likely to come down, so I had moved it to a different spot.
The suspect two were fine..

It was pretty wild on the Cambs-Essex border between 7:30 and 8:30 - I feared that my frail old bedroom window would blow in, and the trees were whipping back and forth like deranged dervishes. However, all survived without damage. Even the late-ripening apples are mostly still on the Tidemans tree. No obvious damage in my village and the electric power survived OK.
