It certainly is.
The campervan is the only way to travel around. Most drivers think we are in a commercial vehicle and therefore don't hassle me if we go a little slow uphill or looking for the campsite...

....but when you're stuck behind a 'camper van' the size of the Hilton going up a single track pass the names get VERY inventive...

I wouldn't mind a camper, but they are way too expensive for us. Plus anything half decent is so heavy we'd need to get HGV licences for them here. Seriously!
We started thinking of a tent, but we tried an airbed and that did my back in, so then we looked at trailer tents. The ones we liked are as expensive as that little caravan. The little 'van has the advantage of not having to put it up in the pouring rain too .
We'll see. It probably won't come to anything again. Might go and look at one in the flesh next week though and see if we really like it, and think we can cope with the size for two of us and a dog.

We spent quite a few years "tugging" a van round, we'd progressed from tents to trailer tents and then to the van, most of our van holidays were spent on temporary sites with just a fresh water tap and chemical loo disposal point, unfortunately the arthritis started causing problems and after weighing up the insurance and storage costs we sold it and blew the proceeds on two weeks in Cyprus Never looked back.
