What was your intended result with this shot?

Would you hang it in your living room?

Not a good night for shots of the moon, too cloudy me think . But I guess under the circumstances I think you did your best.
What 300mm lens did you use?
Those clouds just ruin it I am afraid, unless your intention was really to compose it all with the clouds, in which case you seem to have managed it pretty well

Thought so.
I am afraid it doesn't work for me. I would rather have it as the moon all by itself or if clouds were there would like to see some sort of more cloud patterns with different lighting. Yesterday in London it was a perfect day for that. The sun was setting on one end and the moon could be clearly seen rising from the horizon behind St Paul's Cathedral. And all that when the sun light was still spread around. That kind of image would work for me.
Can't show it here what I took yesterday I am afraid but you get the idea what I mean

I like the effect with the clouds - it's a different take on moon shots and well done for that.

If I were looking for a moon image for a textbook then I'd want a clean shot, but that's another matter.

Works for me - I like the inclusion of the clouds. I can imagine having a walk to the Slaughtered Lamb pub and having to worry about a werewolf bite....very apt this close to Halloween.

Try a moonshot closer and get frustrated like me, it's about the hardest thing to do I gave up.

I've been trying to take a similar shot for a while now. I find that if I get the clouds right, the moon is is burnt and if I get the moon right, then I lose the clouds.

Agreed. It's not often you get that much cloud as well as that much detail.

Compositionally, I think the moon is a little too central, and perhaps a touch overexposed.

The moon is deceptively tough without a telescope. If you haven't returned shivering into the house with fingers too cold to turn an e-dial, vowing never to bother trying to shoot such a stupid subject again, you probably live in Spain... or Australia.

Like Oggy, I've been trying to get a shot like this. Hasn't worked so far. Haven't even come close
Spill the beans then....Is it done "in camera" or two combined shots, can't see the exif so... what were your settings and how much PP, if any, was involved?

no photoshop i tried about 12 shots
at different settings tried looking at the
info on the camera and it says
camera cannot display this image
but it was set in manual mode
