A cheap, but effective reflector

A lovely dandelion flowered amongst my many plant pots but it wasn't very well lit.

I realised a little while ago that smoked salmon trimmings were being sold by a well known supermarket and the stuff
was layered upon a card that was silvered on one side and gold on the other. It is a robust card that I was able to clean.

It reflects sunshine as if a searchlight had been turned on, making for quite dramatic dandelion images

The salmon was quite tasty but it is very pleasing that recycling the packaging should work so well.

Excellent post. Not only a very effective reflector, but a good bit of recycling too.

Does it make your camera bag pong ?

Mornin' David. Your a bit late with this. Many moons ago in the dim and distant past (approx 20/25yrs ago) I put this same thing in a letter to AP and won £10.00 and one of those silly little cameras with 4 lenses that shoot in sequence for action shots. I never used the camera and it's still in its box in the draw. I do however still from time to time use the cards from the smoked salmon package on small things.
Enjoy your salmon (smoked)? while taking your photos.

I use one as well, but you do have to clean it well before sticking in your bag! Is this a case of 'great minds...', or did someone suggest it here previously?

Cheap, effective and a bit smelly! .....that seems to be the agreed consensus here It certainly has brought a surprising amount of light onto the flower, and no batteries required .

But does it come with a free reflector?

Oddly, I saved one of these for this purpose quite some time ago.
