Filters on ME_super

On my ME super I have a skylight and a u.v. filter on the 50mm lens. However when i attach my zoom 80-200 there is no facility to screw the filters on.Is it possible to buy a cap fitting filter? Or does one not fit filters to zooms?

Filters on ME_super

Thankyou Matt. How I missed seeing the thread i shall never know - and i went to Specsavers! Yes it is there and i think it must be a 53mm. because on the lens there is an o with a forward slash thru it and 53. I assume that the actual filter size will therefore be 52mm.I have noted your comments a...

Filters on ME_super

The number on the front is usually the filter size. 53mm is a very odd size though! 52mm is far more common.

Nikon 6T closeup lens.

Funnily enough I also bought a set of close up lenses for my (new to me) Yashica-Mat on eBay this week, but they haven't arrived yet. Looking forward to giving them a run out though! :D I did take some photos back in May this year with a Hama-branded +2 diopter. Quite impressed with the results -...

Nikon 6T closeup lens.

The 6"x4" enlargements were quite acceptable to my eyes (but then, I'm probably not that fussy). :) Nor me! It'll be interesting to know if a "branded" filter makes any appreciable difference to the quality of the final image though. I look forward to hearing your verdict when the pictures...

Helios 44m4 58mm F2 on a Spotmatic F?

Oh well. I just got hold of a very good condition 55mm F2 Super Takumar at a fairly good price. It is now fitted with a yellow filter on the Spotmatic F which has some BW400CN loaded. Stop down metering only, but hopefully this will give some good B+W images. The two Spotties....... :D

Price check on some film bodies and lenses

I've collected a couple of bodies and lenses in order to get together a little film setup, I have here a very tidy working Pentax Spotmatic F in silver, Honeywell ESII in black and range of lenses. I want to thin down to one camera and no duplicate lenses so ideas on prices then I'll decide what I'm...

K1000 on ebay

He's started selling lens caps claiming they are for a specific lens  eg. "Original Pentax 49mm Front Slip-On Lens Cap For 28mm f2.8 28mm f3.5 35mm etc" Well he isn't really. He names several lenses and includes 'etc' at the end. It's a bit over the top, I'd agree, but there's no need to ...

Film - developing and transfer to CD. Recommendations?

John, I also use a 'Heath-Robinson' arrangement which works reasonably well, and which I mentioned in another post a while back. I use my Canon Ixus 750 digital compact to photograph a slide in one of those viewers you hold up to the light, but placed on a lightbox. Used on 'tulip' (close-up) m...

Ilford SFX/IR filter/KX - advice?

I recently bought and loaded a roll of Ilford SFX, and now the IR filter has arrived I've got all the stuff to use it. Problem is, the KX has a match needle display which you can't read with the filter in place! Any ideas? Someone out there must have used this stuff extensively and be able to offer ...

Ilford SFX/IR filter/KX - advice?

Right, as I've now shot and developed a roll of this stuff with apparently good results I can offer some pointers to others who might be tempted to give it a go! Ilford recommend that you use the smallest possible aperture so that depth of field can cover for uncertain focussing caused by IR ligh...

Ilford SFX/IR filter/KX - advice?

Don't forget that many older Pentax lenses have a red-mark for adjusting focus for IR. Cheers, Kris.

Ilford SFX/IR filter/KX - advice?

Yep, I should probably have used a lens with that (the 28-50mm doesn't have one)! Next time I'll probably make the effort to use my 55mm and 28mm primes, the 28-50mm lives on the KX as a good all-rounder. I bought a cheap 52mm R720 filter from Amazon, you can probably get much better ones if you...

That`s almost 2 fluid oz...........................................

Yes, it CAN still happen, I bid on a Spotmatic F May 2009, mid morning, mid week, and won it for £26. It was (is) immaculate, came with spotless smooth correct model SMC Tak 55mm f1.8 (lens with knurled rubberised focussing ring) and uv filter, genuine lens cap, SP F manual, and a working right e...

800 ISO Film. Give interesting results in Urban eve/night?

I only shot a few rolls of that film way back... Mostly used Kodak 800. I shot the kodak at iso 640 for best results. you should have no trouble handholding this combination. Just meter carefully all the darkness and then the bright lights will throw off your camera meter.... I used to use my...

Cleaning the mirror.

I would appreciate some advice regarding cleaning the mirror on my film camera.I wondered whether it could be done with a cotton bud and isopropyl?? Why does it need cleaning? Unlike the sensor, which is protected by an anti-alias filter, the silvered surface of the mirror has no protection and clea...

Infra Red?

It all depends on which camera you have, the early DSLRs like the *istDS can be used without any conversion and just an IR filter. Later cameras require the removal or replacement of the filter in front of the sensor. Film requires both IR film and a filter. Not sure if it is processed in standar...

Infra Red?

I didn't know that Ken. I still have my first DSLR, and its an *istDS. So I just need to get a filter? I would love to try IR. David

Infra Red?

I have an *istDS with a Hoya R72 filter on my kit lens, great for IR. Long exposure times, compared to converted ones, but I do quite like the movement in them. I have a couple in the gallery and also a thread 'infrared @ 60' :) Bought my 52mm Hoya on fleabay for not a lot, great cheap st...
