I just found the Forum

Welcome to the forum.8) I have only had it for a few months, already there's a lot of dust on the sensor, (According to the dust device.) I wonder if the dust alert mechanism actually puts dust on. ) When using the dust alert program point the camera at a plain surface. I didn't and found the ...

Greetings from Jay

Welcome to the forum Jay. I use Leica scopes on my rifles and they are exceptional. I am not so sure that the issue of colour based on sensor/lens combination is so obvious? Are you using straight from the camera without any adjustment? I suppose it's a complement to Pentax that you say y...

Hello From The Hebrides

I've been lurking on this forum for a while gleaning as much info as i could and bought a Km online last week, which has yet to arrive. My first camera over twentyfive years ago was a Pentax then a Minolta, a Nikon and finally a Canon. I then entered the digital age with Fujifilm somethingorother ...

Using Pentax ME Lens

All Pentax digital SLR's (and their Samsung clones) can use Pentax lenses from the 1950's onwards, so that certainly covers any you may have used with your ME. You will notice that the field of view changes as the digital sensor is smaller than a 35mm film frame (so a 50mm lens on digital will lo...

Greetings from S.E Wisconsin USA

Greetings! I look forward to exchanging ideas and learning more about the world of Pentax My earliest days in photography were accomplished with among other models a Pentax K 1000, Pentax Me and Supers. I also had a wide assortment of SLR and range finder cameras from Minolta, Yashika as well a...

New user, new to Pentax, infact haven't bought one yet

Welcome to the forum. I would recommend the K10 if you want to dive in at the deep end, otherwise the K200 has the same sensor and is a bit more new user friendly. In general the low end cameras in the K110/ K100/ K10 range have the higher number. Only Pentax know why!

Traveller possibly inbound...

Welcome to the forum Jules. If your budget is tight, you might do well to consider the kit 18-55 lens, which is often reckoned to be remarkably good and can be brought for well under £50! If you want longer focal lengths or faster lenses many of the A series lenses (you may have used these with ...

pentax mz-30 camera

Basically any lens with the A setting (PKA, Pentax A) and any autofocus lens (F, FA, DFA). DA lenses can be used but are designed for the smaller sensor of a DSLR, so most will vignette on film.

Hello and welcome! Not many (any?) ex-Sony people here so it will be interesting to hear some comparisons. I for one have in the past contemplated jumping ship to Sony, so it will be interesting to hear why you came the other way :) Also interested how you find the K7 sensor compared to the A700 ...

Hello Folks

Hello folks, this is my first post so please be gentle with me. I'm new to the forum but not to photography, having started at the tender age of 7 with an Agfa Rapid (anyone remember those?), then graduating through an Agfa sensor 126, the mighty Zenit E and my Dad's old Canon Pellix. I inherited h...

New GX-10 User

Hello Peeps. I'm a new user of the Pentax brand having just bought a Samsung GX-10 ( GX10 ) from a fellow Pentax User Forum Member (Hi John). I like the idea of having such an extensive accessory list that Pentax Users have. I had been using Olympus/Panasonic Four Thirds but have slowly moved awa...

Upgrading from an *ist D

Thank you all for the world-wide response. It seems that I won't have significant expense above the price of the camera. DNG format had passed me by, I assume it's now a file option on Pentax. Adobe don't seem to list Pentax on their list of DNG supporters. And thanks for the bellows suggestion, ...

Hi. I'm new here

Thank you Stephen. I think I need more shooting first.:):) Agreed! [Unless you want to sell the K7 cheap to me... :P ] It's only once you've had a good while to play with the K7 that you can get a true picture of what feature suit your style. I had my K100 for ~10 months, and can think of a few f...
