Pentax K1000
Whilst I agree with the idea of some sort of digital MX, what we have to realise is that such a camera would probably have to be quite expensive. It more or less has to be full frame and that sensor alone is going to make it more expensive than a K5. Then you've got to start making what is now a non...

Pentax K1000
Then you've got to start making what is now a non standard version of the mount. Why would you have to use a non standard mount? You could either use the existing mount with all the contacts and just don't internally connect the contacts or just eliminate the contacts altogether. You could use a...

Pentax K1000
Since the people who want to use M series glass on a K5 II are also the people who would consider buying this "Digital MX", if they wont do it for us to make us happier with a mass market model, they certainly wont do it to make the same people buy a niche market model unless the price was very much...

Need flash gun tips???
The Vivitar has a light sensor on the front. If you rotate the collar around the sensor you'll see M, or yellow, red, blue or purple showing through the little window. On the side of the flash is a dial which you rotate to the film speed you are using. If you're using 400 ASA you'll see on the di...

Need flash gun tips???
Would I have to have a larger aperture if I'm bounce flashing? Sort of... the sensor assumes that the aperture is set to the value given on the indicator and measures the light appropriately. So if you have the sensor set to orange and the aperture at f/5.6 instead of f/8** you'll get one stop of ...

Recommended Pentax repairers in the UK?
When they 'fixed' my sensor banding problem the camera came back with the same problem, twice. However, I did find them to be very amenable and generally efficient with the attempted repairs.

Plunge to film...
I use film not because it is cheap, or because it is better, but simply because I enjoy it, partly because I enjoy using older cameras. K. Which is what a hobby should be all about... When I first got my K10D (hope it is still going well Andrew!) it revitalized my interest in photography K. It...

NEW TO FILM.
It won't work because it is designed for a much smaller digital sensor, so it will be a bit like looking down the wrong end of a telescope at the wide end

Z-1p - Thoughts?
I've had my Z-1 since new (the 'p' only adds a masked-off landscape format option IIRC). I've not used it recently, but it handles just like a K-5 does as far as the 'photo' side of the camera goes. Although it was never advertised as 'sealed' mine has been out in the rain and covered in dust withou...

pentax MV1 light sensor issue
Hi Welcome to the forum. Are the batteries in the right way round (I usually get it wrong)? They should be inserted (+) side down. Also, the manual I have suggests the may only light in 'Auto' mode - but I suspect you've tried that. Regards, John.

That MZ-S Looks a stunner :) Now imagine it has a 16Mp 36x24mm sensor in it. Best regards

Digital Film
Back in 2000 I signed up as a tester for a project refered to as Silicon Film. Unfortunately it never happened. Fast forward to 2013 and Silocon Film is back as DigiPod! A UK developer has designed a solution and is looking for backing for a production run! IF he gets 1000 pre-orders, then th...
